Can Hospitality Make Longevity Part of Everyday Life?

Novotel's "Longevity Everyday" philosophy, activated through its first Longevity Week in September 2026, offers a blueprint for wellness resorts to embed longevity as a scalable, behaviour-driven guest experience.

How do you translate the concept of longevity into daily life?

For Novotel, the answer is not to create another elite longevity clinic. Starting with "Longevity Everyday" in January 2026 as a new brand-wide philosophy, its first "Longevity Week" ran from 7–13 September 2026, deliberately taking place during the year’s 37th week. The timing reflects Novotel’s "1% better every day" idea: small, consistent improvements can accumulate into meaningful change.

From philosophy to activation

The architecture is straightforward:

Longevity Everyday

→ Novotel’s long-term brand philosophy

Eat / Sleep / Move / Meet

→ The framework that gives the philosophy structure

Hotel experiences + everyday habits

→ The tangible expression across the guest journey

Longevity Week

→ An annual, highly visible moment to engage guests, employees and the wider market

During the inaugural week, participating Novotel hotels activated the four pillars through expert-led sessions, activities and practical experiences around nutrition, sleep, movement and social connection. This makes "Longevity Week" a visible moment that brings a strategy intended to live throughout the guest journey to life.

Strategic opportunity for wellness resorts

For wellness resorts, the more valuable opportunity is to consider how a longevity proposition can be designed as a complete experience system.

"Wellness" and "longevity" are compelling territories, but they can easily become technical, medical or overly abstract. Resorts therefore need to translate the concept into a clear and distinctive point of view. From there, the proposition is tangible by reducing it to a few core behaviours. Novotel, for example, uses Eat, Sleep, Move and Meet. Another resort might choose a different combination, such as Restore, Nourish, Move, Connect and Discover. The same principle is to make the proposition easy to navigate and easy to remember.

Credibility comes from expert guidance that translates complex knowledge into practical advice. Nutritionists, sleep specialists, movement coaches and other practitioners can turn the concept into accessible, actionable insights guests can use immediately. Resorts can then bring the philosophy to life through small, low-friction experiences, such as a short mobility session, a sleep ritual, a recovery-focused breakfast or a guided breathing moment.

The final step is to embed the concept into the environment and extend it beyond the stay. Rooms that support sleep, restaurants that reinforce nourishment, public spaces that encourage connection, and branded touchpoints from key cards to table signs can all inspire simple daily actions and reinforce the behaviours. When guests leave with a ritual, product, recipe or personalised plan they can continue at home, the resort can create lasting behaviour change and a long-term relationship that extends far beyond checkout.

The opportunity is to move from selling an escape from everyday life to becoming a platform for better everyday living. Are wellness resorts ready to seize it?
