Simple Booking Opens the Hotel Back Office to AI Agents
Three months after its IBE MCP, hotel teams can interrogate their own commercial data in natural language, alongside destination-wide demand data.
Simple Booking's Back Office MCP lets hotel teams query reservation, demand, and payment data in plain language via AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, completing an agentic layer for commercial operations.
FLORENCE, Italy — 21 September 2026 — Simple Booking, the hospitality distribution and CRS platform by QNT Srl, part of Zucchetti Group, today announced the worldwide availability of its Back Office MCP. Hotel teams can now query their reservation, demand and payment data in plain language from any AI assistant supporting the Model Context Protocol and OAuth authentication, including Claude, ChatGPT and custom or self-hosted agents.
The release completes the architecture opened on 11 June 2026 with the company’s IBE MCP, which exposed live availability, rates, restrictions and bookable options to conversational platforms. Together the two connectors form what the company describes as a complete agentic layer for hotel commercial operations.
Three data domains, one query surface
• Commercial history. On-the-books position, pick-up and pace, channel mix, ADR, length of stay, source markets, segments, cancellations and ancillary sales, with no restriction on time horizon or channel. It also covers enquiries received and quotations sent through the Simple Booking Quote Manager, and data that is operationally valuable but rarely available in queryable form: OTA commission per reservation, payment gateway transactions for reconciliation, and deposits actually collected through the direct channel.
• First-party demand. Every search performed on the hotel’s own booking engine, with source tracking and search-to-booking conversion, so a property sees not only what it sold but what it was asked for and did not sell.
• Destination demand. Aggregated search data from the Zucchetti Travel Data Lake, covering searches across Zucchetti’s IBE and CRS products in the same destination: a market view built from tens of thousands of properties, which no individual hotel can reconstruct on its own.
The combination is the point. A hotel can now set what its destination is searching for against what its own booking engine was asked for, and against what it actually sold, inside a single question.
In a pilot across 50 properties, analyses that previously took half an hour of spreadsheet work returned in seconds, and complex multi-dimension reports that took several hours were produced in around two minutes.
“Analytical capability of this kind has historically been reserved for properties with a dedicated data team or a serious BI budget,” said Sergio Farinelli, CEO of QNT Srl (Simple Booking). “We have built it into the platform and priced it as a single annual fee per property, so it reaches the forty-room independent as much as the international chain. And we can add what no hotel can assemble alone: a comparison between what it sells and what its entire destination is looking for.”
Accessible by design, with the team in the loop
The two connectors are built on a single conviction: the constraint in a hotel’s commercial operation is rarely the quality of the decision, it is the time and effort it takes to reach the information the decision needs.
What the MCP automates is therefore the retrieval and the analysis, not the judgement. A recurring report can be produced on its own every Monday morning; a question that used to mean half an hour of spreadsheet work is answered in seconds; an anomaly in pick-up can surface without anyone going to look for it. Every one of those outputs arrives as an analysis, a diagnosis, a set of quantified options, handed to the hotel team for a decision rather than acted upon around it.
Accessibility is meant in every sense of the word. Commercially, a single annual fee per property, with no per-query and no per-room metering, so that cost does not scale against the properties least able to absorb it. Practically, there is nothing to learn: once the connector is authorised, the user asks questions in ordinary language, in whichever assistant they already work in. Technically, because MCP is an open protocol, the hotel is not locked into a single vendor’s interface and can go as far as running the whole thing against a local model on its own machines.
“Human in the loop is not a disclaimer for us, it is what the architecture is for,” said Farinelli, who is also CTO of Zucchetti Hospitality. “The revenue manager, the front office manager and the general manager hold context no dataset contains: the relationship with a regular guest, the reputation of the property, the reading of a local market. Automating the repetitive, low-value work around them is precisely how you give that judgement the room to operate.”
Permissions and privacy
Governance follows the same logic. The connector authenticates via OAuth against the user’s own Simple Booking Back Office account, including two-factor authentication, and can show that user nothing their account would not already show them, for the properties it already covers. Permissions remain under the hotel administrator’s control, in the same place they are managed today.
No personal guest data is ever transmitted. All responses are aggregated and carry no guest, customer or user identifiers.
The hotel also chooses where its data is processed: most properties will connect to a provider operating under zero data retention and no model training on customer data, while those with stricter requirements can point the same connector at a locally hosted agent and a local language model, in which case nothing leaves the property’s own machines.
Availability
Both connectors are available worldwide to Simple Booking customers from today, with documentation in English and Italian, covered by a single annual fee per property with no per-query or per-room metering. The first 500 properties to request access receive a one-month free trial.
