The latest expansion brings the Group’s Verified Net Zero portfolio to nine hotels across the Nordics and UK, demonstrating how the program is moving from its initial pilot towards application across larger, complex meetings and events properties.

The launch represents the next phase in Radisson Hotel Group’s ambition to scale Verified Net Zero across its global portfolio. Building on the Group’s initial Verified Net Zero pilots and subsequent launches, the program is designed to demonstrate how the principles of net zero hotel operations can progressively be applied across different properties, markets and operating environments.

Today Radisson Hotel Group announces four Radisson Blu hotels in Sweden and Denmark as Verified Net Zero hotels. The three hotels now launched in Stockholm are: Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm, including Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm and Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel, Stockholm-Arlanda. In Denmark, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Copenhagen is launched as a Verified Net Zero Hotel.

Meetings & Events

The newly renovated Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm is situated next to the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre and the Central Station. The hotel offers 414 guest rooms and suites and effortless access to the city’s top attractions, including the neighboring City Hall, while offering a tranquil waterfront setting.

Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, located next to Stockholm Central Station, is one of Sweden’s largest and most versatile meeting and event venues. Offering 14,000 square meters of flexible event space across 24 meeting rooms, the venue can accommodate events ranging from smaller meetings to major international congresses and events for up to 3,000 participants.

Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre was a pioneer in sustainable architecture and energy-efficient design when it opened and remains one of Europe’s most energy-efficient buildings. Sustainability is integrated throughout the property, with innovative solutions including 1,040 square meters of solar panels and a cooling system using water from the nearby Klara Sjö. The building is LEED Gold certified.

Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm is located next to Stockholm Central Station and offers 15 meeting rooms, with the largest meeting space accommodating up to 180 guests. The hotel combines a central location with a range of facilities for both business and leisure travelers. Guests can unwind in the newly renovated relaxation area, featuring an indoor pool and jacuzzi, or enjoy panoramic views of Stockholm from HIGH Bar Stockholm.

Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel, Stockholm-Arlanda offers 342 guest rooms conveniently located only 2 kilometers from the airport. With 24 meeting rooms and a total capacity of up to 771 people, the hotel is an ideal venue for meetings and events, offering flexible spaces, accommodation and convenient access to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

In Denmark, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Copenhagen is launched as a Verified Net Zero hotel. The hotel offers 544 newly renovated guest rooms, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. With 14 meeting rooms and capacity of over 2,000 guests, the hotel is an important meeting and events venue in the Danish capital.

With these major meeting and events properties, Radisson Hotel Group shows that large-scale meetings and events hotels and congress centers can convert to verified net zero operations without compromising scale or service.

Following the recent launch of three Verified Net Zero Hotels in Norway, this launch marks an important step for Radisson Hotel Group in reaching its target of 100 Verified Net Zero Hotels by 2030.

The expansion shows that net zero hospitality at scale is not limited to new-build properties or individual showcase projects. Instead, it can be applied to existing hotels already operating efficiently with complex infrastructure, welcoming large groups of guests and delegates, and operating major conference activities.

Beyond the environmental impact, the programme reflects Radisson Hotel Group’s belief that sustainability and profitability should go hand in hand. Reducing energy and resource consumption can support more efficient hotel operations and greater long-term resilience, while responding to the evolving expectations of guests, owners and corporate customers. The learnings from these properties will help inform how the Group continues to scale the program across its portfolio.

Growth and sustainability cannot be two separate conversations. If we want to build a stronger hospitality business for the long term, we need hotels that reduce their environmental impact while continuing to deliver for our guests, owners and people. What we have learned through Verified Net Zero gives us an opportunity to take that ambition further, and this expansion in Scandinavia is another important step as we work towards 100 Verified Net Zero hotels by 2030

Federico J. González, Global CEO of Radisson Hotel Group

With four additional launches in Stockholm and Copenhagen, our Verified Net Zero program continues to gain momentum. We now have nine Verified Net Zero Hotels across the Nordics and the UK, proving that net zero hospitality is no longer a concept or a pilot—it is a scalable reality. By bringing the program to some of the region’s most important meetings and events venues, we are helping corporate customers, meeting planners and guests reduce the footprint of travel and events without compromising on quality, flexibility or scale. Importantly, every Verified Net Zero Hotel is independently verified by TÜV Rheinland against the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels, providing customers with confidence, transparency and credibility in an increasingly complex sustainability landscape.

Inge Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer at Radisson Hotel Group

The Verified Net Zero Program

The Verified Net Zero program is comprehensive and includes the carbon footprint from energy use (Scopes 1 & 2 as defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol or GHG), as well as the hotel’s operational and supply chain footprint (Scope 3). Actions include the use of 100% renewable energy, achieved through electrification of hotels and/or by the purchase of 100% renewable energy for all hotel functions from heating, cooling, hot water to cooking and spa & pool facilities. Within Scope 3, the program focuses on overhauling operations to minimize waste, re-evaluating supply chains with a focus on low-carbon menus, and other sources of emissions such as laundry and supplies such as amenities.

Radisson Hotel Group partnered with Klimato – a specialized partner from Sweden – to develop low-carbon menus by analyzing the entire food offering for in-room dining menus, Meetings & Events menus and the breakfast buffet, curating recipes to lower their overall carbon footprint. Menus carry carbon labels from A (lowest) to E (highest). Menus focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients while reducing recipe carbon footprints by up to 40%, without compromising on taste.

Each hotel undergoes independent third-party verification by TÜV Rheinland to ensure compliance with an internationally recognized Net Zero Methodology for Hotels.

For meeting planners and corporate buyers, the relevance is practical: the hotels show how established venues can offer net zero stays and meetings while maintaining the flexibility and capacity required for large-scale business events.

Radisson is owning its space as a pioneer in hospitality. The 115-year-young brand was first established in the United States by visionary hotelier Edna Dickerson. Through her focus on purposeful innovation, Radisson became a global powerhouse. In a nod to its American roots, the new Radisson logo references the original signage with a prominent uppercase font that was once displayed on hotels across the country.

Radisson Blu invites you to follow your curiosity and think in Blu. The first hotel, opened as the SAS Hotel in Denmark in 1960, was designed by acclaimed architect Arne Jacobsen and was heralded as the first design-forward hotel, a hallmark retained by the brand today. The new Radisson Blu logo honors this heritage of functional Scandinavian design.
