Ramy Khamis has been appointed as Director of Operations at The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi

With a degree in hotel management and over 19 years in hospitality, from Egypt, Saudi Arabi, and the United Arab Emirates, Ramy brings with him a wealth of experience, knowledge, and business strategies, to The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi.

Having started his career as a senior front office agent at the Semiramis Intercontinental in his hometown of Cairo, Ramy eventually joined The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh as Night Manager, moving his way steadily up the ranks until he became Assistant Director of Rooms.

After three years he was elevated to Director of Rooms, moving to The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert in 2017 to oversee the opening of the property after it was rebranded to The Ritz-Carlton. During his time as Director of Rooms, he worked closely with the General Manager to develop business strategies, ensure guest satisfaction, and champion the brand's service vision for the expansive 500 hectare property.

Ramy also served as the support chair and council member for the Marriott Business Council in the UAE, and counts receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the White House, after the visit of the then-president to Riyadh, as one of his memorable moments.

Ramy Khamis is an alumnus of Helwan University – Class of 2000.
