HVS Publishes Updated Canadian Lodging Outlook

HVS in Canada is well recognized for our comprehensive feasibility studies, easy-to-understand hotel appraisals, strata-title hotel appraisals, assistance with management and franchise negotiations, and selective asset management. As our professionals hold both the AACI and the MAI (member of the Appraisal Institute in the United States) designations, we can work for clients (and our reports are accepted) on both sides of the border.

Our latest publication is the Canadian Lodging Outlook, published in conjunction with STR (Smith Travel Research) and endorsed by the Hotel Association of Canada. This publication summarizes monthly occupancy and average room rates from all of the major cities in Canada, as well as for each province and the country as a whole. We have over 700 hotels with an excess of 145,000 rooms participating in the survey. We will be sharing this information with you monthly, and hope you enjoy it.

Monique Rosszell, Senior Associate of HVS International's Toronto office, holds an Honours Bachelor of Economics from Queen's University as well as being a graduate from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. Monique's previous experience includes more than six years of hotel operational experience spanning three continents. Prior to joining HVS, she had her own Food and Beverage consulting practice. Monique is not only fluent in English and French, but Japanese as well, and is currently enrolled in the four-year Urban Land Economics program at the University of British Columbia, working towards her AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) designation.

Betsy MacDonald, MAI, AACI, Managing Director of HVS Vancouver, is a graduate of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and has over 20 years of hotel feasibility and appraisal experience. Prior to opening HVS in Vancouver, Betsy was a director in the U.S. consulting practice of Pannell Kerr Forster, an international hotel consulting firm.
