Michiel Roelfsema has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Michiel's first encounter with Hotel Okura Amsterdam dates back to 2002, when he worked at the hotel as an intern. In 2008, he returned to the hotel as assistant director of food & beverage. At that time, he was also a board member at the Food & Beverage Management Association. This was followed in 2012 by his appointment as rooms division director. In 2016, he was made deputy general manager. In addition to his work at Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Michiel Roelfsema is also an active member of the Hotel Finance & Technology Professionals (HFTP) organisation and a regular panel member at the Hotel Industry Technology Exposition Conference (HITEC).

From 1 January 2019, Remco Groenhuijzen is the new Regional Vice President Mövenpick Netherlands. The current General Manager of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam sets the next step in his career within parent company AccorHotels. Mövenpick Hotels Netherlands is one of AccorHotels newest additions to Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Center, Mövenpick Hotel 's Hertogenbosch and a hotel to be opened in 2019 in The Hague. Groenhuijzen is stationed as General Manager at Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Center, one of the flagship hotels in Europe

Moxy Amsterdam Debuts in Regenerated Houthavens Neighborhood

TV personality Koen van Dijk, actress Holly Mae Brood and world-class Dutch DJ La Fuente were among the faces joining Moxy Hotels, Marriott International"s experiential hotel brand, on Thursday when they hosted an irreverently nautical Coming Out Party to celebrate the brand"s entrance to The Netherlands. Inspired by the city"s waterways and the hotel"s dockside location in the regenerated Houthavens area, a former lumber yard and still a working dock, the Moxy Crew lowered the gangplank and hosted around 400 guests who walked the plank and "Played On" #atthemoxy.
