Chris Schmidt has been promoted to Director of Front Office at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, Vail Valley

Schmidt has been a Westin Riverfront team member for the past four years, starting at the Front Desk and moving up to serve as a Guest Service Manager. He previously worked at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Flagstaff and The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera. A graduate of the International Hotel & Restaurant Management program at Northern Arizona University's W.A. Franke College of Business, Schmidt volunteers with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Tina Petersen has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, Vail Valley

A skilled human resources professional with more than 20 years of experience, Petersen most recently served as a Senior Human Resource Manager at Vacasa. Other previous experience includes leadership positions at Wyndham Vacation Rentals, Howard Head Sports Medicine, The Home Depot and Target. She is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management & HRCI. A graduate of West Texas A&M University, Petersen is a previous board member of the High Country Human Resources Association and the Vail Valley Lacrosse Club.

Lauren Warkentin has been appointed as Membership Manager at The Athletic Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon, Vail Valley

Warkentin formerly served as Marketing Manager for KJUS North America Inc. and East West Hospitality. Most recently she worked for Gorsuch as the Site Merchandiser, Content Specialist and Social Media Manager. A graduate of Washington & Lee University and an avid endurance runner, Warkentin has hiked all of the Colorado 14ers and is currently working on climbing the rest of the Colorado Centennial Peaks.

Steve Klehfoth has been appointed as Club Manager at The Athletic Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon, Vail Valley

Klehfoth is now overseeing the Athletic Club's extensive class schedule, fitness programming and facility upkeep. Klehfoth has lived in the Vail Valley since 2007, working as a manager for Ptarmigan Sports and Umbrella Roofing & Waterproofing. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Klehfoth is very involved in the Vail Valley community - serving as a Mountain Games Event Specialist for the Vail Valley Foundation and volunteering with the Birds of Prey races and the Kids Adventure Games. He is an avid cross country skier and travels Colorado playing disc golf as president of the local Flying Eagle Disc Society club.

Tom Davies has been appointed as Sales Manager at The Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa

Davies has worked at The Westin Riverfront since 2015, starting as a Guest Services Manager before becoming a Reservations Manager. In his new position, Davies will be overseeing the International Group Sales and Sports Group markets. A graduate of Cornell College, Davies currently serves on the board of the Vail Valley's Buddy Werner Race League. He previously held sales leadership positions with Colorado's Resort App, LLC, New Electric, Inc. and HUB International Insurance Services, Inc.

Kristin Ligouri has been promoted to Spa Director at Spa Anjali at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain

Ligouri joined The Westin Riverfront family in 2011 to serve as a Spa Anjali Supervisor and has continuously worked her way up by proving that she is ready for the next challenge. Ligouri began her spa career at the Vail Cascade’s Aria Spa; she also started and operated a small company called Rocky Mountain Reindeer with her now husband, where she learned the importance of effective operations and administration.

Ingrid Middaugh has been promoted to Director of Spa Anjali & The Athletic Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain

Middaugh has been serving as the Director of Spa Anjali since 2013. A graduate of Central Michigan University, Middaughpreviously served as the Spa Director at the Vail Cascade Resort. Under her leadership, Spa Anjali has earned many industry kudos, including being named one of the “Top 25 U.S. Spas” by Conde Nast Traveler, a “Favorite Green Spa” by American Spa Magazineand a “Top Green Spa” by Organic Spa Magazine. In her new position, Middaugh will be joining The Westin Riverfront’s Executive Committee and also overseeing the Athletic Club at The Westin, which offers more than 60 group exercise classes per week, along with extensive special wellness programming, including yoga workshops, triathlete training sessions and nutrition counseling.

Aaron Baxendale has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is delighted to welcome Aaron Baxendale as Executive Sous Chef of WYLD, the resort’s newly debuted signature restaurant. With more than 12 years of experience and a passion for embracing local flavors in his cooking, Baxendale blends harmoniously with WYLD’s sumptuous Alpine cuisine that brings the local Colorado bounty to life. A Cleveland native, Baxendale began his culinary career at Le Cordon Bleu at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, followed by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) accredited three-year apprenticeship program. His formal training led him to work in some of the finest restaurants in the country, including five years at the luxurious Greenbrier resort, two years at The Boathouse Club on Martha's Vineyard, and four years with Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton – including most recently as Chef de Cuisine of Georgia’s Bistro at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation and Executive Chef of Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington D.C. During his first few weeks at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Baxendale has channeled his gastronomic approach of using simple yet bold flavors into the dishes he makes at WYLD, which pay homage to the resort’s pristine location rooted in nature and on the “edge of wild.” In his new role, Baxendale will lead the culinary team at WYLD to bring Colorado’s succulent bounty to life. The restaurant features an eclectic menu and refined mountain classics with a strong emphasis on locally sourced and sustainable meats, seafood, and seasonal vegetables. Signature dishes include Open-Face Lamb Dip with shaved Colorado lamb, horseradish cream, crispy onion, and au jus; Big Fat Toasted Grilled Cheese with Haystack chili jack, vacherin, and fontina cheeses paired with a tomato soup shooter; Niman Ranch Pork Bruschetta with lardo and Colorado wildflower honey; and more.

Kevin Delonay has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at The Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is pleased to announce it has promoted Kevin Delonay to serve as Director of Food & Beverage at the award-winning resort. Delonay has been a member of The Westin Riverfront team for more than seven years, most recently serving as the Executive Chef at Maya, the resort’s modern Mexican kitchen by Chef Richard Sandoval. A graduate of Virginia’s James Madison University, Delonay previously worked at several top Vail Valley restaurants, including Sweet Basil, Dish and the Game Creek Club. In his new position, Delonay will oversee all operations for The Westin Riverfront’s Maya, the Lift, the Parlor 126 Lobby Bar and Starbucks, as well as the resort’s more than 7,500 square feet of event space, which includes the 4,000 square foot Riverside Ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning Beaver Creek Mountain views, and a 2,000 square foot outdoor banquet terrace.

Lauren Mackintosh-Zebrowski has been appointed as Catering & Events Manager at The Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is pleased to announce that it has hired Stephanie Bennett as a Senior Sales Manager and promoted Lauren Mackintosh-Zebrowski to the position of Catering & Events Manager. A graduate of Denver’s Johnson & Wales University, Mackintosh-Zebrowski has been a member of The Westin Riverfront sales team since 2014, most recently serving as a Sales & Catering Coordinator.

Mark Hughes has been named Director of Rooms at The Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek

Hughes comes to The Westin Riverfront from the Sheraton Denver Downtown, where he most recently served as the Director of Housekeeping. A graduate of the University of Denver, Hughes also served as the Operations & Housekeeping Manager at the Denver Marriott Tech Center. Other hospitality experience includes The Westin Denver Downtown and the Denver Marriott City Center. Hughes has worked as a task force manager at several Starwood brands, including The Westin Snowmass, the St. Regis Deer Valley and the W Hotel Silicon Valley. Hughes spent more than 10 years living overseas in Africa and Asia and has led volunteer outreach trips to Haiti and Nicaragua.

Chris Cofelice has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek

Cofelice joins The Westin Riverfront team from the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort, where he most recently served as the Director of Sales & Marketing. A graduate of the University of Florida, Cofelice previously held senior sales positions at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa and the Beaver Creek Lodge. Cofelice volunteers with the Vail Valley Habitat for Humanity and with the annual Eagle River Clean-up.
