Chris Ehmann has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit

In this role, Ehmann will lead the team in preparation of the openings of the DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit in April 2013 and the Hilton Sukhumvit in May 2013, develop both hotels’ vision and strategy, as well as oversee hotel operations.Ehmann has over 20 years of international hotel experience and first joined the Hilton Worldwide family in 1999 as Director of Operations at Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest, Romania. He subsequently held the same position in a number of Hilton Worldwide properties including Jeddah Hilton, Jumeirah Hilton and Nile Hilton. He was also General Manager at Hilton Adelaide.

Justin Malcolm who joined the 296-room Aloft Bangkok – Sukhumvit 11 in January 2013, has a total of 18 years hospitality experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In 1995, Justin’s passion for the hospitality industry sparked at the Sheraton Sydney Airport Hotel, Australia where he held various roles before moving to the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, Thailand in 1998 as Assistant Manager.During his tenure there, Justin was instrumental in the successful launch of the award-winning reward program, Starwood Preferred Guest within the resort. He then moved back to Australia to join The Westin Sydney as a member of the pre opening management team, Westin’s first hotel in the Pacific.There he held a number of key management roles in Rooms Division before being appointed Director of Six Sigma, Black Belt. As Director of Six Sigma, he successfully introduced and launched Six Sigma and was recognized for a number of industry leading projects, which contributed to the success of this award winning hotel.

Bernardo de la Garza has been named Food and Beverage Manager at Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park

A graduate from Glion Institue of Higher Education, Bernardo started his career as a Management Trainee with Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, in San Antonio, Texas. He has risen through the ranks, working for InterContinental, Evason, and Accor. At the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park, Bernardo will oversee all food and beverage outlets which he will have the challenge of sustaining and promoting its ultimate dining options.

Myla Caceres has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park

A graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Management from La Consolacion College, Mendiola Manila, Philippines, Myla completed her Management Traineeship at the prestigious five star hotel, The Manila Hotel in Rooms Division in 1992. After completing her degree, she continued her service at the same hotel as Front Office Associate.

Keith Hardie has been appointed as General Manager at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Tower

Starwood Hotels & Resorts named Keith Hardie as the new general manger at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Tower last week. He has been working at the hotel since 16 February. Mr Hardie was most recently the GM of the 761-key Le Royal Meridien, Shanghai, but had a spell as general manager of the Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, during a 18-year career with the group. A British citizen, Mr Hardie started his hotel career with Trust House Forte in 1977 and moved to Dubai 29 years ago.

Anthony Slewka has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit (Opening Early 2012)

A Canadian national with many years of experience in Sales and Marketing positions with the Accor hotel group. Anthony began his career in 2003 at Accor Hotels World Trade Centre, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) where he was Director of Business Development. Consequently he worked as Director of Sales and Distribution Accor Middle East, based in the Regional Office in Dubai. In November 2008, he was promoted as Regional Director of Sales for Sofitel South East Asia & India based in Bangkok. Anthony will be responsible for overseeing all sales and marketing activities for the property, whilst continuing to hold the position of Regional Director of Sales for Sofitel South East Asia & India. He will drive sales revenue, establish a reputation for Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit as top corporate and leisure destination hotel and increase the profile of the hotel both regionally and nationally. He will play a major role in spearheading and steering the hotel in all markets.

Christophe L.M. Caron has been appointed as General Manager at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit (Opening Early 2012)

A French national with almost 20 years of extensive experience in hospitality and service operations from five continents including South America, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia. In August 2008, Christophe was promoted as Vice President, Sofitel South East Asia & India based in Bangkok. Prior to Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, Christophe was General Manager of Sofitel Bangkok Silom and is also Vice President of Sofitel South East Asia & India. Christophe began his career with Accor in the early 1980’s, in a range of Accor’s multi-brand group in France and West Africa. He rejoined Accor in 2001, as General Manager of the five-star Sofitel Resorts Complex at Costa do Sauipe – Bahia in Brazil, Subsequently, he was promoted as Director of Operations Accor Hospitality Middle East based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

Jérôme Chautard has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at VIE Hotel Bangkok

Chef Jérôme was born and brought up in Bourg en Bresse, near the city of Lyon, whose residents adhere to the belief in not wasting any part of the ingredients they use in their cooking. It’s a philosophy that he has also remained true to, using only top quality ingredients as well as traditional methods of cooking, so that diners not only experience true French cuisine, but the casualness and warmth of eating at a relative’s house. At the age of 16, Chef Jérôme followed his passion for culinary art, cooking first at a restaurant in his hometown, before moving to St. Tropez on the French Riviera, where he spent 15 years working, learning and acquiring a sound understanding of Mediterranean and traditional French dishes. In his 22 years in the culinary industry, he worked at many famous restaurants in France, before moving to Thailand to head the French restaurant, Aubergine. His expertise in Mediterranean and traditional French cuisine made the restaurant extremely popular in the city. He then moved on to the Conrad Hotel Bangkok as Chef de Cuisine.

Michael Tscherne has been appointed as Group Director of Revenue at Ibis Hotels Thailand

Ibis Hotels Thailand has named a number of new executives. Michael Tscherne has been appointed as group director of revenue who will be responsible for a strategic pricing and revenue management. He previously held the leading position as multi-hotel revenue manager for Accor’s Brisbane Hotels. In addition, Ploywadee Dibbayawan has been appointed as group director of sales who will oversee and develop the new sales vision and strategy for ibis Hotels Thailand. She was formerly group director of sales for the Koh Samed Resort Group. Finally, Chutimaporn Kasemsuk has been appointed as group director of marketing and communications. She previously worked as Dusit International’s corporate director of public relations & communications.
