Jack Akai has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Jack Akai joins Park Hyatt Beaver Creek from Breckenridge, Colo., where he served as the director of human resources for a local utility repair company. His experience in the human resources realm also includes time with Whole Foods Market. Prior to that, he was worked in various leadership roles with several large organizations, including G.E., Capital, Samsung Telecom, and Best Buy.

Reese Lee has been appointed as Associate Director of Sales at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Reese Lee joined the Hyatt family in 2019 as the director of sales for the Hyatt Place Keystone. He most recently was the associate director of sales for the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort and Spa sales team, starting as part of the task force and moving into a permanent role as the hotel rebuilt its team. He brings with him experience as a seller for IHG hotel brands, leadership skills as a former director of sales, food and beverage experience, as well as client perspective as a former group buyer for Conference Direct as a Global Account Executive.

Thomas Gutmann has been appointed as Director of Restaurants at Park Hyatt

Gutmann rejoins the celebrated mountain resort with more than 15 years of experience and success in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as the head of food and beverage operations at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver where he managed seven food and beverage outlets.

Tom Puntel has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is pleased to welcome Tom Puntel as the director of sales and marketing. Puntel joins the celebrated mountain resort with more than 25 years of experience and success in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. Puntel will be responsible for overseeing the revenue strategy as well as directing the group and leisure sales teams of the 190-room resort.

Jaime Huttrer-Herick has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

Bringing more than 15 years of sales expertise in luxury ski properties, Jaime will oversee all sales, marketing, advertising and public relations efforts for the iconic AAA Five-Diamond mountain resort. Boasting an esteemed reputation amongst peers, clients and members of the community, Jaime began her successful career with the brand in 2008 as Director of Group Sales. Most recently, as Director of National Accounts, Jaime continued to mark professional achievements, creating strong relationships for key accounts that have greatly contributed to the Sales and Marketing Teams exceptional success, far surpassing their forecasted goals.

James Steinbach has been named Director of Group Sales at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa

Steinbach returns to Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing from 1988 – 2004 before working as the Vice President of Conference Sales for the Vail Valley Partnership and starting Q-A, LLC, a hospitality consulting business. Steinbach also draws sales experience from positions at Hyatt properties in New Orleans, Lake Tahoe and Greenville, S.C. Steinbach completed his schooling with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and graduated with cume laude honors from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

Rowland Cheeks has been appointed as Senior Sales Manager at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa

Cheeks joins the sales team at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa with more than 25 years of experience within the hospitality industry including roles in the areas of sales, food & beverage and guests services while working for companies such as Hyatt , Disney, Conferon/Experient, and Kinsley Meetings. Most recently, Cheeks was the Senior Sales Manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs where he was responsible for corporate business within Colorado and the Western United States. Cheeks graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.

Abdullah Vural has been appointed as General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

Boasting more than 24 years of globe-spanning experience in the hospitality industry, Vural began his illustrious career with the luxury brand in 2002. Over the course of nine years, he has continued to mark professional achievements within Food and Beverage, Operations, Finance and Sales Departments on the property level, as well offer his savvy to the Americas in a corporate vice president capacity. Vural brings with him an impressive history of impactful engagement with ownership groups, senior management, customers and employees via innovative service strategies and brand initiatives. Further, he has helmed many property openings on behalf of The Ritz-Carlton, including those in Los Angeles and Lake Tahoe, and served as the interim general manager at destination resorts, such as California’s Half Moon Bay and Arizona’s Dove Mountain.

Pam Smith has been appointed as Director Of Leisure Sales at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa announced today the addition of Pam Smith as the new director of leisure sales. Smith most recently worked at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa as the director of leisure sales. In addition to her previous roles at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa as director of leisure sales and director of sales, Smith also worked as manager of tour & travel at Copper Mountain Resort. During her professional career, Smith has been awarded both Peak Performer and Diamond Performer awards, Sales Manager of the Year and Chairman’s Club by Destination Hotels & Resorts. These accolades are awarded to sales managers who achieve their sales quotas and exceed 115% of their annual sales goal. A graduate of the University of Denver, Smith is married with two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, skiing and biking in her spare time.
