Jenny Winkler has been appointed as Senior Vice President & General Counsel at The Rezidor Hotel Group

The Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Jenny Winkler as Senior Vice President & General Counsel. Effective 1st July 2015, she will lead Rezidor’s legal department at the corporate office in Brussels (Belgium) and report to Knut Kleiven, Deputy President & Chief Financial Officer. Jenny Winkler will also be a member of Rezidor’s Executive Committee. Jenny Winkler joins Rezidor from Carlson, the group’s strategic partner and majority shareholder. Her most recent position at the headquarters in Minneapolis (U.S.) was Associate General Counsel, Americas, for Carlson Hotels, where she supported the leadership on all contractual and legal aspects of the franchised business. Jenny Winkler joined Carlson in September 2010 as Senior Corporate Counsel and was promoted to her present position in July 2012. Prior to joining Carlson, she spent six years with the law firm Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis. She is a citizen of Sweden and the United States, and has a Masters of Laws from Uppsala University in Sweden and a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota in the United States. She has also studied in Japan.

Jérôme Stinglhamber has been appointed as Business Developer at GLOBAL Design & Project Management

Jérôme STINGLHAMBER ESSEC IMHI 2005 has been appointed Business Development Manager for GLOBAL Design & Project Management for offices / hotels / retails / housing in France & Benelux. Prior to that Jérôme was managing a real estate firm (agency, real estate development, asset management) in Kinshasa, DRC, for the last two years. Upon graduation Jérôme worked more than 4 years at Expedia as Market Manager Belgium & Luxembourg.

Christian Hylander has been appointed as Vice President Sales at Rezidor

Rezidor, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, has appointed Christian Hylander (53) as Vice President Sales. Christian Hylander, a Swedish national, is responsible for leading the Carlson Rezidor Sales function in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), for defining and implementing the company's sales strategy, and for delivering Carlson Rezidor's ambitious revenue objectives in EMEA. Carlson Rezidor put a strong focus on Revenue Generation and closely co-operate on a number of joint global activities. Christian Hylander is based at Rezidor's Corporate Support Office in Brussels, Belgium. He is a member of the Rezidor Leadership Team and reports directly to President & CEO Wolfgang M. Neumann. Prior to joining Rezidor Christian Hylander has worked 27 years for Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS); his last position was that of Senior Vice President Corporate and Agent Sales.

Michael Wale has been appointed as Senior Vice President Western Europe at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. today announced that Roeland Vos, long-time President of Starwood’s Europe, Africa, & Middle East (“EAME”) region, will step down and be succeeded by Michael Wale, a 35-year Starwood veteran who most recently served as Senior Vice President and Director of Operations for Western Europe. Mr. Vos will transition into a consulting role with the company, effective June 1, 2013. Mr. Vos joined Starwood in 1982 and has held progressive management positions throughout his career, including President, Europe and SVP, Area Director of Italy & Malta. In 2001, he was appointed President, EAME, and under his leadership Starwood grew from 127 properties in the region to 243 hotels and resorts in 60 countries with an additional 64 hotels in the pipeline today. Mr. Wale began his career with Starwood as a graduate trainee in 1978 at what was then ITT Sheraton. In his most recent role, he was responsible for managing Starwood’s operations in Western Europe, leading 54 hotels across eight brands in 13 countries. Previously, Mr. Wale held progressive management positions, including SVP Global Operations for Le Méridien, VP Area Director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and General Manager of several flagship Starwood properties such as the Sheraton Park Tower Knightsbridge and the Sheraton Grand Hotel Edinburgh. Following the acquisition of Le Méridien in 2005, Mr. Wale led the successful integration of 130 Le Méridien hotels worldwide into Starwood’s portfolio. Passionate about the development of leadership talent, he also created Vita Futura, an innovative graduate training program which began in the EAME region and has helped to shape the careers of many leaders throughout Starwood.

Silvia Brighenti has been named Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Amigo Brussels

Ms Brighenti brings with her over ten years experience in luxury hotel sales and marketing and joins from Sheraton Rhodes Resort where for the past two years she was Director of Sales & Marketing. Prior to this, she was Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing at Le Meridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo. Ms Brighenti has also held previous roles in sales and revenue management at Le Meridien Chia Laguna in Sardinia and started her career in hospitality as a Group Sales Executive at Boscolo Hotel Leon d’Oro in Verona.

Philippe Spagnol has been named General Manager at Hotel Amigo Brussels

With over 26 years’ hospitality experience, Mr. Spagnol brings significant skills to the role, combined with considerable knowledge of the international luxury hotels market from an operational perspective. He joins Rocco Forte Hotels from the Lapa Palace in Lisbon where for two years he was General Manager. Prior to this, Mr. Spagnol spent four years as the General Manager at Orient-Express’ Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, Peru. A graduate from the Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, Mr Spagnol started his career in Food & Beverage and has held roles at among others the Beau Rivage Palace Lausanne, Claridges in London, Negresco in Nice, and Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg.

Blanche van Berckel has been appointed as General Manager at the Steigenberger Grandhotel

Blanche van Berckel has more than 20 years' experience in the luxury hotel sector and has held management positions in leading international hotels as well as being active in the field of hotel consultancy. Her roles have included a spell as Director at the Dutch hotel management and consultancy company Fairquest Group. She has also held an executive position at the company CHIC LTD in London, where she established a portfolio of luxury hotels for private investors. Prior to this, she was responsible for the opening and management of Blakes Hotel in Amsterdam. She spent eleven years building her career at the InterContinental Hotel Group in a variety of locations in Europe and North America. Immediately prior to moving to Steigenberger, Blanche van Berckel acted as the interim Director of the Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo in Brussels.

Olivier Harnisch has been appointed as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at The Rezidor Hotel Group

The Rezidor Hotel Group today announced the appointment of Olivier Harnisch (45) as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Harnisch will succeed Wolfgang M. Neumann who is taking over from Kurt Ritter as the company's new President & CEO. Harnisch currently serves as Vice President, Northern and Central Europe at Hilton Worldwide. In his new role he will be based at Rezidor's corporate support office in Brussels, Belgium and report directly to Wolfgang M. Neumann. He will also be a member of the group's Executive Committee. Harnisch will head Rezidor's optimized, decentralized operational organization comprising the areas Nordics, Eastern Europe & Russia, Western Europe & North Africa, Central Europe, UK & Ireland, and Middle East & sub-Saharan Africa under the leadership of Area Vice Presidents. Across all these territories Rezidor's portfolio of hotels in operation currently features 335 properties with 73,184 rooms. Harnisch, who has both German and French nationality, holds a Master of Science in Organizational Behaviour of University of London; a Master of Business Administration of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh; and a Degree in Hospitality Management of Berlin School of Hotel Administration. He attended further senior management courses at New York University, USA; Cornell University, Ithaca, USA; and University of Hagen, Germany. He began his career within the hospitality business in flagships such as St. Regis New York and Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. He joined Hilton in March 1999 as Director of Operations at Hilton Dresden. He afterwards served as General Manager of Hilton Madagascar and Hilton Zurich & Hilton Apart Hotel; and was promoted to Cluster General Manager of Hilton Munich Park & Hilton Munich City. In February 2008 he took over the corporate position as Vice President, Northern and Central Europe at Hilton Worldwide. Besides his mother tongues German and French Harnisch speaks English, Spanish, Italian, and Indonesian/Malay. He is married and has two children. Harnisch does not only have a passion for hotels, but also for airplanes: he holds a US pilot license.
