Brandon Bollenbacher has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Quail

 The Quail, a picturesque resort set against the rolling hills of Carmel Valley, California, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Bollenbacher as Executive Chef. Overseeing all culinary operations at The Quail Lodge and Clubhouse, Bollenbacher brings more than 15 years of global luxury hospitality experience to the property’s dining outlets, banquets, and special events programming.  

Kai Lermen has been appointed as SVP of The Peninsula Signature Events at The Quail

Kai Lermen has served as a cornerstone of The Peninsula Hotels since 2009 and has led The Quail with passion and dedication since 2017. Over his 15 years with The Peninsula brand, Lermen's leadership has guided The Quail to new heights of excellence and exclusivity. In his new role as Senior Vice President of The Peninsula Signature Events, Lermen will oversee The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels' team and lead both properties' global motorsport experiences. "Leading The Quail has been a rewarding experience, and I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved during my time here," said Lermen. "I look forward to taking on this new challenge and shaping the future of The Peninsula's signature events on a global scale."

James Overbaugh has been appointed as Managing Director at The Quail

James Overbaugh, a seasoned executive with over 16 years of dedicated service to The Peninsula brand, returns to California, where his journey with the brand first began in 2008. Overbaugh brings extensive global hospitality expertise and a personal passion for the culinary realm to Carmel Valley's cherished destination. After serving as an Executive Chef at an esteemed collection of hotels for the first 13 years of his career, Overbaugh joined The Peninsula team in 2008 as the Executive Chef of The Peninsula Beverly Hills. Over the next nine years, he ascended to the role of Executive Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage Operations.

Candice Cancino has been appointed as General Manager at Carmel Mission Inn

Carmel Valley Ranch has appointed Kara Adamson as Director of Sales of the award-winning resort situated on 500 acres in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains along California's Central Coast. Adamson brings vast hospitality knowledge and leadership to her new position through years of high-level sales experience with luxury resorts in Napa Valley and beyond. Adamson will focus on creating leisure and group business growth opportunities for the bucolic resort playground, which is known for playful outdoor adventures including beekeeping, a culinary program and Ranch artisans that celebrate the landscape, world-class golf and more. Prior to joining Carmel Valley Ranch, Adamson served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Las Alcobas, which opened in 2016 in Napa Valley, Calif. As the first member of the pre-opening team, she devised and executed strategic plans critical to the success and positive brand image of the hot new property. Her previous experience includes serving as Director of Sales & Marketing for more than 14 years at Auberge du Soleil where she continued to deliver impressive sales growth while cutting operating expenses exponentially and played an instrumental role in the iconic Napa Valley resort achieving a Forbes Five-Star rating.

Mark Feldman has been appointed as Director of Sales at Carmel Valley Ranch

Anna Olson, General Manager of Carmel Valley Ranch, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Feldman as Director of Sales. Feldman brings 18 years of resort hospitality experience working with some of the most revered resorts in the world including Pebble Beach Resorts, Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Grand Wailea Resort and most recently The Grand Del Mar in San Diego, where he served as Director of Group Sales. Feldman’s wealth of experience proves to be a winning match for the Carmel Valley Ranch. Prior to the time he spent in his principal role overseeing all group sales efforts for The Grand Del Mar, Feldman acted as the national sales manager at the esteemed Pebble Beach Resorts, where he was responsible for all phases of sales for rooms and golf for a trio of luxury properties: The Lodge, The Inn at Spanish Bay and Casa Palmero. Before moving to Northern California to become an authority in the region and the golf community, Feldman spent 12 years in Maui where he was associate director of sales and national sales manager for Ritz Carlton Kapalua and worked his way up the ranks to senior sales manager at the Grand Wailea Resort. Feldman received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from California State University, Chico.
