Judy Esterbrook has been appointed as Director Of Sales & Marketing at Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center

Esterbrook has a proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales and marketing initiatives. As the director of sales and marketing for the Renaissance Denver Downtown at the Colorado National Bank, Esterbrook will lead the Renaissance team in implementing revenue-generating practices that exceed competitive sales objectives, as she has for numerous hotel properties throughout the Denver area. Prior to joining Renaissance, Esterbrook served as director of sales and marketing for Embassy Suites Denver Downtown, and was named 2012's Embassy Suites Director of Sales of the Year for her contribution to the hotel's successful launch. Throughout her career, Esterbrook has worked amongst the leadership teams of renowned brands such as Marriott, Vail Resorts and Hilton. During her tenure with the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Downtown, Esterbrook was recognized as 2009's Director of Sales of the Year.

Tracy Blair has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel

Blair is no stranger to Denver downtown hotels, coming to the Sheraton from the 430-room Westin Denver Downtown where she was director of sales and marketing for five years after being promoted from director of group sales. Previously, Blair held a variety of positions for Starwood Hotels & Resorts working in the Denver market for 13 years.

Douglas Lambourne has been appointed as Group Sales Manager at SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown at Metro State

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Lambourne has worked for Marriott International since 2008, most recently serving as a Sales Manager for the Western Mountain Pacific Sales Office, where he was responsible for 25 hotels in 12 cities, including the JW Marriott, Renaissance, Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott by brands.

Mike Rayburn has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Embassy Suites Denver Downtown - Convention Center

Rayburn brings more than 15 years of diverse hospitality industry experience to the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown, which is managed by Denver's Sage Hospitality. Rayburn has worked for Sage Hospitality since 2009, most recently serving as the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Denver Airport Marriott, where his team was named Sage's 2012 "Sales Team of the Year."

Mark Stiebeling has been appointed as General Manager at Grand Hyatt Denver

Prior to coming to the Mile High City, Stiebeling was the general manager of Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carslbad, California for two years. He has served as general manager for over fourteen years collectively at Hyatt premier properties that also include Park Hyatt San Francisco, Park Hyatt Washington D.C. and, more recently, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt at Olive 8 in Seattle. Stiebeling began his career with Hyatt in 1992 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.

Tony Dunn has been appointed as General Manager at The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel

Dunn comes to the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel from the 1,377-room Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel where he was General Manager for five years. During that time, the hotel received honors for the highest Starwood Guest Points enrollments worldwide and was awarded Best Operational Innovation by Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Prior to that, Dunn was the General Manager at the 474-room Sheraton Gateway Toronto Hotel succeeding three years as General Manager at the Westin Edmonton.

Colin Bennett has been appointed as Sales Manager at JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek

The JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek is pleased to announce that it has hired Colin Bennett to serve as a Sales Manager. Bennett has spent the last 12 years working with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, most recently serving as a Sales Manager at the Grand Hyatt Denver Downtown and the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. A graduate of California’s Sierra College, he previously held management positions at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento at Capital Park, the Grand Hyatt San Francisco on Union Square and the Hyatt Regency Tech Center Denver.

Brandon Hendricks has been named Area Director of Sales & Marketing at The Oxford Hotel

Denver’s Sage Hospitality, one of the nation’s top hotel management companies, has named Brandon Hendricks as the Area Director of Sales & Marketing overseeing Denver’s Oxford Hotel and the new Union Station hotel scheduled to open July 2014. Hendricks has been at Sage’s Westin Westminster since 2009, originally serving as the Director of Sales & Marketing before being promoted to Area Director of Sales & Marketing overseeing The Westin Westminster, Hotel Ivy in Minneapolis and Il Lugano in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Marc L. Messina has been appointed as General Manager at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel

Previously, Messina spent the majority of his career at the 1,600-room Anatole hotel in Dallas. From 1994 to 2011, he held various positions at The Anatole starting as director of Food & Beverage, as well as serving as director of Operations, before being promoted to general manager in 1994 of the 47-acre property. During his 17 years at The Anatole, Messina was the recipient of many awards, including General Manager of the Year in 2003 awarded by the Hotel Association of Greater Dallas. Under his leadership, the hotel also won Hotel of the Year in 2005 from the Hotel Association of Greater Dallas, Convention South’s Annual Readers Choice Award in 2009, and excellence awards from various meeting and convention groups for several consecutive years. In 2010, Messina oversaw the hotel’s first-time receipt of the AAA Four Diamond rating and was the driving force behind its most recent $160 million transformation. Most recently, Messina was general manager of an ultramodern and urban-chic loft-style boutique hotel located in the prominent Las Colinas neighborhood of Irving, Tex., near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Chef Kimo Akana has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center

Today, Ben Hardaway, Director of Food and Beverage for Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, the only Four Diamond hotel in the famed Denver Tech Center, announced that Chef Kimo Akana will serve as Executive Chef of the new Root25 Taphouse & Kitchen. Root25 Taphouse & Kitchen, which opened on Saturday, February 23, is the property’s new signature restaurant.

Dayna Milne has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown/Convention Center

Milne was most recently the Divisional Vice President of Revenue Management at Denver’s Sage Hospitality, which acquired the management contract for the 403-room convention center hotel last summer. Prior to joining Sage, Milne served as the Corporate Director of Revenue Management for Vail Resorts’ RockResorts luxury hotel brand and as a Market Director of Revenue Management for Marriott International, overseeing a group of 20 hotels anchored by the Denver Marriott City Center. She also served as the Director of Sales & Marketing for Mexico’s Camino Real Hotels. A graduate of Colby College, Milne holds an Executive MBA from the University of Denver and a Certificate of Hotel Marketing from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

Red Lion Sells Denver Hotel and Signs Franchise Agreement with New Owner

Red Lion Hotels Corporation (NYSE: RLH) today announced the company has closed on a $13 million sale of the Red Lion Hotel Denver Southeast in Colorado. Pandey Hotel Denver LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pandey Hotel Corporation, the US division of CP Group New Zealand, purchased the hotel and upon closing entered into a franchise agreement with the company for a 190-room Red Lion Inn & Suites.
