Rami Sayess has been appointed as Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Doha

Seasoned hospitality veteran, Rami Sayess, will assume a new senior role effective mid-November 2013, as Regional Vice President for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Doha , bringing to his new position a global perspective balanced with rich regional knowledge and experience. Building on an eight-year tenure with Four Seasons , Sayess will make the transition from his current position as Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, Thailand, where the company manages four properties. The new role also signals a return to the Middle East for Sayess, with previous positions at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh as General Manager and as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Amman, his induction into Four Seasons in 2005.

Ray Mc Shane has been named Opening General Manager at Mondrian Doha

Ray Mc Shane has joined Morgans Hotel Group as the opening General Manager for the company's first hotel in the Gulf region, Mondrian Doha, scheduled to open in 2014. Ray joins from Royal Orchid Hotels India, where he was General Manager and Group Vice President Sales position, based out of Bangalore. Prior to India, he has also enjoyed senior management roles in the Uk, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon, U.A.E. and Spain.

Ghada Sadek has been appointed as General Manager at Mövenpick Tower & Suites Doha

She succeeds Jan Kaiser who has been appointed the general manager of Mövenpick Hotel Paris Neuilly. Ghada, an Egyptian national, joins the hotel from Wyndham Grand Regency where she held the position of assistant general manager. The seasoned hotelier brings with her a passion for the industry and over 22 years of experience in sales and marketing and operations in international hotel chains such as Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Red Sea. An established figure in the local community for her involvement in the development of environmental programmes and sustainability initiatives, as well as strong ties with the local government, Ghada is keen to focus on strengthening the Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts brand among the local business community.

Amin Al Huneidi has been appointed as Director of Sales at The St. Regis Doha

Huneidi, with 13 years of sales experience in luxury hotels in Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, will be responsible for focusing on the corporate and government sector across the GCC as well as developing a broad range of services and packages for corporate clients. Huneidi joined The St. Regis Doha from Al Sondos Suites and Dar Al Sondos Hotel Apartments by Le Meridien, Dubai where he held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. He first joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2002 as Sales Manager at the Sheraton Amman.

Andreas Pfister has been appointed as General Manager at InterContinental Doha

InterContinental Doha has appointed IHG stalwart Andreas Pfister as its new general manager, as well as Cyril Mouawad as its new director of sales and marketing. Pfister joins the hotel after spending 22 years with the group, having previously held the same position at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. Since 1990, when he joined IHG as a reservation clerk at InterContinental Geneva, he has worked in seven different countries, including Germany, England, India and Luxembourg.

Damian Ball has been appointed as General Manager at Amari Doha

Onyx Hospitality Group has brought in Damian Ball as general manager of the soon-to-open Amari Doha, Qatar scheduled to open in the fourth quarter. The opening of the Amari Doha will mark the Thailand-based operator's entry into the Middle East market. The Australian national has 18 years of experience in the hospitality sector in the Asia-Pacific region. He started his career in front office positions, after graduating in tourism and hospitality. Since then, Ball has held management roles throughout Australia, the Philippines and the Maldives at international hotels and resorts. In this new role, Ball will oversee operations of the 120-room hotel, which is located 15 minutes from Doha International Airport and will include the brand’s signature Breeze Spa.

Wissam Suleiman has been appointed as General Manager at Kempinski Residences & Suites Doha

Kempinski Hotels has appointed Wissam Suleiman as general manager of the group’s iconic property in Qatar, the Kempinski Residences & Suites. Since its opening in 2010, the five-star hotel residence and suites managed by Kempinski has filled an important niche in Doha’s growing residential market. Suleiman’s career in the hospitality industry began in Amman 16 years ago, and he has worked at some of Kempinski’s most high-profile properties in the region, including the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, UAE, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea, Jordan, and Kempinski Hotel Aqaba, also in Jordan.
