Lesly Connolly has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington, D.C. North/Gaithersburg

Lesly Connolly has been named director of sales & marketing for the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington, D.C. North/Gaithersburg. With nearly 25 years of experience, she brings with her a multi-layered approach across various brands and segments augmented with a strong, local background. Prior to joining the DoubleTree, Connolly was the senior sales manager for The National Conference Center in Leesburg, Va. She previously held such positions as sales & marketing director for the Holiday Inn Dulles and senior sales manager of the Hilton Washington Dulles. Connolly received her associate degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Bay Path University. She also is a longtime member of the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, having served as president as recently as 2018.

Marshall Hotels & Resorts Completes Multi-Million-Dollar Renovation of DoubleTree by Hilton Washington, D.C. North/Gaithersburg

Marshall Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel management and services company that operates properties nationwide, today announced the completion of a full, multi-million-dollar renovation of the 298-room DoubleTree by Hilton Washington, D.C. North/Gaithersburg. Marshall also announced that Lesly Connolly has been named director of sales & marketing. In her new role, she will be responsible for reintroducing the hotel to travelers and area residents alike.Situated at 620 Perry Parkway, the 12-story hotel is just a short drive or train ride from Washington, D.C. and is convenient to most cities in Maryland, including Rockville, Bethesda, Germantown and Frederick. Jay Lefkowitz has been appointed as Director of Hotel Operations at Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center

Prior to joining the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, Jay was Director of Operations of the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel in Charleston, SC. During Jay’s tenure at this hotel he helped lead the team to exceptional results. In addition to improving operational efficiencies in Rooms, Events, and Food & Beverage, he assisted with an ownership transition in 2010 and filled in as Acting General Manager. Furthermore, Jay has held the position of Chair of the Charleston Marriott Business Council successfully leading 14 hotels in Spirit to Serve initiatives since 2011. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Jay began his career with Marriott in the Manager Development Program with Marriott Vacation Club International in Hilton Head Island, SC. He continued to work in various Front Office and Human Resources roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Birmingham, AL and San Francisco, CA. In 2006, Jay returned to Marriott working as a Front Office Manager and later as Director of Services with Marriott Vacation Club in Hilton Head.

Calvin Johnson has been appointed as Hospitals Division President at Sodexo, Inc.

Johnson, a resident of San Diego, Calif., joined Sodexo in 2003 as a division vice president bringing more than 20 years of proven accomplishments in the management and leadership of large organizations. Johnson has built a high-performing team by keeping a strong focus on people, client retention, standards of excellence that focus on improving the patient and resident experience. Throughout his career; Johnson has demonstrated outstanding leadership, and strong customer focus. Johnson’s team has delivered almost $140 million in revenue while maintaining a 96 percent client retention rate. Johnson began his professional career with the U.S. Army, graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and attaining the rank of Captain during his military service. Mr. Johnson holds an MBA and a Master of Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
