The Lux Collective and Jumbo Group Sign Hotel Management Agreement to Build the First LUX* Urban Resort in Guangzhou, China

Global hospitality group The Lux Collective and Jumbo Group in China have signed a hotel management agreement in July 2022 to build the first LUX* urban resort in Guangzhou, China - LUX* Guangzhou. This latest signing marks The Lux Collective's first foray into one of the top three first-tier cities in China and will boost its brand presence in a highly important strategic source market. The new hotel is expected to open in June 2024.

Markus Kosch has been appointed as General Manager at Conrad Guangzhou

Hilton is pleased to announce that Markus Kosch has been named General Manager for the new Conrad Guangzhou, set to open in mid-2017. A veteran hotelier with decades of international experience with Hilton and specifically in China, Mr. Kosch is uniquely qualified to lead the opening team in delivering the region’s first Conrad Hotel. The child of diplomatic parents who traveled the world, Mr. Kosch was groomed to serve in the hospitality industry. He was born in Venezuela and raised in Germany and Spain, where he developed impeccable language skills and cultural fluency. He attended hotel management school before moving to China to join Hilton with his first assignment at the Hilton Shanghai in the Room Division Front Office.

Thereafter, she was successively appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Le Meridien Sheshan Shanghai and complex Director of Sales & Marketing of Four Points by Sheraton Guangzhou and Sheraton Guangzhou Huadu Resort.

Mete Atakuman has been appointed as General Manager at Jumeirah Guangzhou

An Australian Turkish citizen, Mete Atakuman has over 20 years of luxury hospitality experience across high-profile resorts in Australia, Turkey and Azerbaijan including Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts and Hilton International. Mete joined Jumeirah Group in May 2011 and led the pre-opening phase of Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel, Baku which welcomed its first guests during the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2012.
