Peter Katusak-Huzsvar has been appointed as General Manager at W Guangzhou

Prior to W Guangzhou, Katusak-Huzsvar served as General Manager of W St. Petersburg, where he was responsible for all pre-opening and opening activities of the hotel. He came to W St. Petersburg from W Doha Hotel and Residences, where he held the title of Director of Operations during the hotel’s pre-opening and opening phases. Before then, Katusak-Huzsvar was at another Starwood hotel, Le Meridien Budapest, where he served as Executive Assistant Manager and was responsible for the daily operation of guest reception, concierge, bell service, housekeeping, laundry, health club, business center and security departments, as well as the food and beverage outlets and banquet operations. Prior to that he worked in several other Budapest hotels, including art’otel as Front Office Manager; and Kempinski Hotel Corvinus as Assistant Front Office Manager, a role in which he also served at Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Münich.

Anthony Cheng has been appointed as General Manager at The Westin Guangzhou

Mr. Cheng’s hotel career started in Singapore in the early eighties and joined ITT Sheraton Corporation in 1994 as Regional Director of Sales. In 2004, Mr. Cheng arrived in China as Regional Director of Sales, China for Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, later he elected to direct his career back to hotel operation and opened Le Meridien She Shan, Shanghai before moving on to Sheraton Sanya Resort. Prior to his current role, Mr. Cheng was the General Manager of Sheraton Dameisha Resort. Anthony likes soft adventure, sailing, working out in the gym and holiday in less travelled destinations in China.

Patrick Pahlke has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Grand Hyatt Guangzhou

Mr Patrick Pahlke has been appointed as the Hotel Manager of Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, effective on 1 March 2013. Patrick, a graduate of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, started his career with Hyatt at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in October 2002 as Sales Executive. Prior to this he has held numerous positions in Food and Beverage, Culinary, Rooms and Public Relations with Forte Hotels, Le Meridien, Mandarin Oriental and the Daniel Boulud Restaurant group in Cologne, Germany, Hong Kong and New York City. He was subsequently promoted to Sales Manager in 2004 and Associate Director of Sales in 2005. After 5 years of working at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Patrick transferred to Grand Hyatt Beijing in 2007 and where he held the position of Director of Sales. In 2009, Patrick transferred to Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Director of Sales & Marketing and shortly after he was promoted to Area Director of Sales & Marketing – East China.

Graham Kiy has been appointed as General Manager at Jumeirah Guangzhou

Graham Kiy is appointed General Manager of Jumeirah Guangzhou. He will be leading the pre-opening team of the 200-room, five-star luxury hotel which will be located in the centre of New Pearl City Tian He District, Guangzhou’s premier and rapidly growing commercial city centre. Graham joined Jumeirah in August 2010 as the pre-opening Hotel Manager for Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai (UAE). Prior to this he worked with the pre-opening development team of Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel, Shanghai. A British National and fluent German, French, Indonesian, Thai, Mandarin and Cantonese speaker, Graham has had extensive experience in Asia with General Management roles in Suzhou (China), Singapore and Manila (Philippines). He also spent a number of years in Executive Committee roles in five-star hotels and members clubs in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Beijing and Taiwan. Jumeirah Guangzhou is expected to open in 2013.
