With more than 15 years of hospitality experience, Patney has held numerous positions
across several brands, including Marriott, Starwood and Hilton. He joined Waterford Hotel
Group in 2005 as Director of Banquets for the Marriott Hartford Downtown in CT, where he
was later promoted to Director of Food & Beverage. Patney had also previously served as
Director of Operations for the full-service, 285-room Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton,
CT. Patney joins the Hilton Hartford from his most recent role as General Manager for the
237-room Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT, which under his
direction achieved the top Guest Experience Index (GEI) score for all Sheraton hotels in North
America earlier this year.
Patney holds a Diploma from the Institute of Hotel Management and a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in General Studies from the Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, a Master of
Business Administration degree in Hospitality Administration from Johnson & Wales University
in Providence, RI, and a Certificate in Restaurant Revenue Management from Cornell
University in Ithaca, NY.
