Stacy Manzo has been named Director of Sales at Aqua Kaua’i Beach Resort

Aqua Hotels and Resorts, a division of Aqua Hospitality, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacy Manzo as director of sales for the oceanfront Aqua Kaua'i Beach Resort. Most recently, Manzo was account director - Leisure Sales at Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas and Sheraton Kaua'i. Her Hawai'i hotel sales experience also includes director roles for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and Turtle Bay Resort. She also held key sales and marketing positions in California at Hotel Valencia Santana Row, Crow Canyon Country Club and Classic Custom Vacations.

Richard Oshiro has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Outrigger Reef on the Beach

Oshiro joins Outrigger from the Miramar At Waikiki where he was executive assistant manager and director of sales and marketing. Previously Oshiro was regional director of sales for Westcoast Hotels; director of sales for Waikiki Parkside Hotel; sales manager at the Coconut Beach Hotel; and account manager at the Sheraton Makaha Resort and Country Club.

Sheryl Tsugawa has been appointed as Assistant General Manager at Outrigger Reef on the Beach

Tsugawa joined Outrigger in November 2010 as sales and marketing manager to the newly transitioned Holiday Inn® Waikiki Beachcomber Resort, an Outrigger-managed property and most recently as director of sales. Prior to joining Outrigger, Tsugawa was the operations manager of IHG Army Hotels in Honolulu (lodging units at Tripler Army Medical Center and Ft. Shafter) and associate manager, development marketing at IHG's corporate offices in Atlanta, GA.

Debbie Murakami has been promoted to Assistant General Manager at Holiday Inn® Waikiki Beachcomber Resort

Prior to the Holiday Inn® Waikiki Beachcomber Resort, Murakami held the front office manager position at the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, The Wyland Waikiki and the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Murakami joined Outrigger in 1996 as guest services manager at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach after gaining experience in guest services at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, night audit at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel and concierge at the Halekulani Hotel.

Pam Cabrera has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Outrigger condominium resort division

Outrigger® Enterprises Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Pam Cabrera as director of sales and marketing for the company’s condominium resort division. Cabrera was most recently general manager of the Outrigger Luana Waikiki. In her new position, Cabrera will provide leadership and coordination to the Outrigger condominium resort team working closely with island-level management, individual property teams and corporate marketing and sales resources in the development and implementation of new plans and programs to grow revenue and achieve goals for the division. Cabrera began her Outrigger career in 1990 as a student intern working as a front desk clerk at the Outrigger Maile Sky Court. Within two years, she joined Outrigger on a full-time basis as an employee relations and staffing clerk in the company’s Corporate Office. Over the years, Cabrera has worked in various management capacities, including assistant manager, hotel manager, and product manager. In 2003, she was named assistant general manager of the Outrigger Luana Waikiki and, subsequently, general manager in 2006. Cabrera holds a BA in psychology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and is a member of The Navy League, Friends of Hickam and Soroptimist International of Honolulu.

Jim Heather has been named General Manager at Honolulu Airport Hotel and Best Western® The Plaza Hotel

Heather returns "home" with this appointment following a year in Phuket, Thailand, where he was resort manager for the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort. While in Southeast Asia, Heather helped implement the pre-opening plan for the Laguna property before assuming responsibility for the resort's operations after its opening in April of this year.

Catherine Johns has been appointed as Director of Catering and Convention Services at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa

A graduate of The University of Michigan, Johns began her hospitality career at MF Productions, an events production firm in New York specializing in creative projects for arts, non-profit and philanthropic organizations. Prior to joining the Hyatt brand, Catherine held various catering and events positions throughout Washington D.C. and Virginia, until joining the Park Hyatt Washington in 2008 as Director of Catering. In 2010 Johns joined the Andaz 5th Avenue team, where she played a critical role in the launch of the hotel, the second Andaz property in New York. In January 2013 Catherine relocated to Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach, where she now serves as the Director of Catering and Convention Services.

Matthew Pickett has been appointed as General Manager at Aqua Lotus Honolulu

With over 16 years of experience in Hawaii's hospitality industry, including Five Diamond service and a great record of improving revenue maximization and operational efficiency, Pickett recently guided the 51-room Aqua Lotus Honolulu through a successful $2.5 million room renovation and upgrade. His knowledge and experience in food and beverage is also great asset as the hotel will launch an exciting new full-service restaurant in 2013.

Mark Turina has been appointed as Sales and Catering Manager at Best Western The Plaza Hotel and the OHANA Honolulu Airport Hotel

Simeon Miranda, general manager of the Best Western The Plaza Hotel and the OHANA Honolulu Airport Hotel , is pleased to welcome Mark Turina as sales and catering manager for the two Outrigger-managed properties. In this newly created role, Mr. Turina will report directly to Stephanie Nojima, director of sales and marketing, and is responsible for selling, promoting and optimizing revenue for the food and beverage and catering departments. Formerly a guest service representative with another Outrigger-managed property, the Holiday Inn® Waikiki Beachcomber Resort, Mark Turina has gained valuable hospitality experience working in various supervisory positions, including front desk night auditor and relief hotel manager.

Ulrich Krauer has been appointed as General Manager at Halekulani

Halekulani Corporation, which owns and manages both Halekulani and the Waikiki Parc Hotel on Oahu, Hawaii, has appointed Ulrich Krauer to the position of General Manager of Halekulani. Mr. Krauer, who has helmed several of the world’s most iconic hotels during the course of his career, will join Halekulani on August 27, 2012 and will be responsible for directing all aspects of day-to-day management and operations of the legendary 453-room property. This announcement was made by Peter Shaindlin, Chief Operating Officer of Halekulani Corporation. Mr. Krauer most recently served as Asset Manager to Somerset Grace Bay in the Caribbean and, previously, as General Manager of Kona Village Resort on the Big Island. In addition, he has held the position of Manager Director and General Manager at the St. Regis Monarch Beach and Sonoma Mission Inn in California; Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas, Texas; Hotel La Samanna in St. Martin, French West Indies and the legendary Hotel Bel Air in Beverly Hills. He also served as Resident Manager at the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas and the Grand Bay Hotel Miami. Mr. Krauer’s international experience includes management positions in five-star properties in Bern, Davos, Locarno, St. Moritz and Vevey in Switzerland; Megeve, France; St. Andrews, Scotland; Costa Smeralda in Sardinia and the luxury cruise ship MS Vistafjord of Norwegian America Lines. Hailing originally from Bern, Switzerland, Mr. Krauer is fluent in English and German, and proficient in Italian, French and Spanish. He is a passionate aficionado of Hawaiian culture, culinary arts and wine, and is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast.
