Killian Donoghue has been appointed as General Manager at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

Mr. Donoghue started his career with Marriott in 2001 working in Sales & Marketing at Hamburg Marriott Hotel, Germany before relocating to Thailand in 2005 working as Director of Sales & Marketing for MEA Mayfair Bangkok and for JW Marriott Bangkok, Courtyard Bangkok and Renaissance Koh Samui respectively. His most recent position was Market Director Sales & Marketing for a group of Marriott hotels in Amsterdam. He is now ready to lead the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa, a heavenly hideaway of 78 villas and deluxe rooms on Lamai Beach of Samui Island and is all set to inspire and help guests Live Life to Discover. With his collected experience and deep appreciation of Thailand and its people, a strong background in sales and marketing, the team is excited to know that he will be a great addition to the existing team and lead with great enthusiasm to future successes.

Martin Kunzmann has been appointed as General Manager at Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui

A graduate of Swiss Hotel Management School in Adelaide, Martin has been working in the hospitality industry for 18 years, first joining Amari in 2007. Starting off as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, Martin moved around properties across the country expanding his experience from Amari Vogue Krabi to Amari Emerald Cove Koh Chang, and eventually to Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui, where he was promoted to Resident Manager and most recently, to General Manager. His first encounter with Amari however, goes way back to his childhood. Growing up with a hotelier father, Martin lived in Amari Don Muang Bangkok for two years whilst his father managed that property, making Martin a second generation Kunzmann Amari GM.

Lee Ng has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort

Ng joins Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort, Koh Samui most recently from Le Méridien Angkor, Siem Reap, where he served for more than five years, first as assistant director of sales before working his way to director of sales followed by director of sales and marketing. Prior to his tenure at Le Méridien Angkor, Ng worked with Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, and Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. Ng began his professional career in the hospitality industry at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur.

Mark O’Sullivan has been appointed as General Manager at Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort

Prior to joining Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort, Koh Samui, O’Sullivan served as Manager of the exclusive Club Coco Palm at Coco Palm Bodu Hithi, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, in the North Malé Atoll of the Maldives and as General Manager at Brooks Hotel, also a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, in Dublin, Ireland. Prior to entering the luxury hospitality field, O’Sullivan earned a degree in hotel management from Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland.

David G. Daguise has been appointed as General Manager at X2 Samui

A French national, Mr. David G. Daguise has brought with him more than 15 years of experience working in hotel industry. His extensive experience includes working with Hilton, Marriott, Renaissance and Le Meridien Etoile hotels in Paris, The Jalousie Plantation and Discovery Marigot Bay in St. Lucia, Le Prince Maurice in Mauritius and Huvafen Fushi in Maldives before moving to Thailand. His last position before joining X2 Samui was Resident Manager at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra.

Lubosh Barta has been appointed as General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Thailand announces the appointment of Lubosh Barta as General Manager. Barta is no stranger to the palm-fringed beaches of the beautiful island of Samui, having been Resort Manager of Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui since December 2010. Koh Samui is the third stop on Barta’s “Grand Tour of Thailand,” having started his Thai adventure in 2004 in the dynamic capital as Director of Food & Beverage at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok. His journey next took him north, to the peaceful green rice fields of Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, where he served as Resort Manager from 2007 to 2010.

Alex Gares has been appointed as Executive Chef at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui

Gares has been working as an Executive Chef for eight years, and has a wealth of experience garnered during stages and stints at countless Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Spain, including the legendary el Bulli, Celler de Can Roca, Mugaritz, and many more besides. He’s also had the opportunity to experience many different elements of hotel food and beverage, managing everything from breakfast orders to food festivals to fine dining, as well as being invited to participate in numerous high-profile culinary events, including most recently catering a cocktail reception for Scuderia Ferrari at the 2011 Singapore Formula 1 race.

Coetzer Deysel has been appointed as General Manager at W Retreat Koh Samui

W Retreat - Koh Samui is scheduled to open in summer 2010. Deysel’s brings more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to his new position, most recently serving as hotel manager of W Retreat & Spa - Maldives. Deysel’s prior positions include managerships at Madikwe River Lodge in South Africa; Shibula Lodge & Bush Spa in South Africa; Exeter Game Lodges in South Africa, and Chapungu Tented Camp in South Africa. A passionate advocate of conservation and wildlife, Deysel is an active member of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA), which provides educational opportunities to promote the conservation and rehabilitation of the cultural and natural heritage of Southern Africa.
