Yngvar Stray has been appointed as General Manager at Harbour Grand Kowloon

A veteran Norwegian-born hotelier, Mr. Stray brings with him 30 years of experience within the hospitality industry with extensive experience in operating international five star luxury and life style hotels in gateway cities in Asia. Mr. Stray’s expertise is founded within Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing and Hotel operation. Mr Stray’s appointment as General Manager started in 2002 with Sheraton Shenyang Lido Hotel and subsequently in W Seoul Walkerhill. In 2007, he joined The St. Regis Singapore where he took the lead in hosting President Hu Jintao, and later re-joining The St. Regis Beijing to welcome President Obama in late 2009. Prior to joining Harbour Grand Kowloon, he was the General Manager of Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund.

Andy So has been appointed General Manager for pentahotel Hong Kong, Kowloon, scheduled to open Summer 2013 in East Kowloon. Mr. So brings 24 years hotel experience to his new role. Prior to joining pentahotels, he was EAM, Sales and Marketing for Grand Hyatt Macau; opening team Director of Sales and Marketing for Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsimshatsui; and Director of Sales and Marketing for Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong.

Peter Hildebrand has been appointed as General Manager at W Hong Kong

With more than 2 decades of hospitality experience, Peter Hildebrand has worked in many key cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, where he had the great opportunity to become part of the local scene, understanding the local cultures as well picking up a smattering of Cantonese and Mandarin along the way. Peter started his career as a Corporate Management Trainee with Hyatt Group in Hong Kong in 1989 and developed his responsibility within Sales & Marketing. In 1998, Peter joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as Director of Marketing and Business Development at Sheraton Towers Singapore. After continuing his hospitality career in Hyatt Group for another 9 years, Peter rejoined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2010, commencing his first General Manager appointment at the Westin Fuzhou Hotel, where he led his team to introduce the Westin brand in China’s Fujian province and to successfully open the hotel.

John A. Girard has been appointed as General Manager at Regal Kowloon Hotel

Mr. Girard has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining the Group, he had spent the last 18 years with Marco Polo Hotels, during which he held the positions of General Manager of the Hongkong Hotel, Vice President, Marketing & Operations and Area Director for Marco Polo’s three Hong Kong properties. In the past three decades, he has held positions in various disciplines in hotels all over the world including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and particularly Sales & Marketing in Malta, Indonesia, Malaysia, England, Switzerland, Italy, Kuwait, Dubai, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Guyana (South America) and Australia for International chains such as Hyatt International, Holiday Inn, Beaufort International, Forte Hotels, Rank Hotels and Sino Hotels. Mr. Girard speaks English, Maltese, Italian and Arabic. He is an active member of the hotel industry and has sat on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Hotels Association.
