Destination Hotels announces the appointment of Freddy Hernandez as Area Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Quirk Hotel, YVE Hotel Miami and the newly-introduced Royal Isabela. In his new role, Hernandez will oversee all Marketing & Public Relations operations from planning and developing communications strategies to cultivating media interest in all three hotels. With an extensive background in communications and digital marketing, Hernandez brings immense experience to his new position. Prior to joining Destination Hotels, Hernandez was the acting Director of Marketing & Public Relations at The Hall South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida, previously a Joie de Vivre brand property. Prior to that Hernandez held digital and marketing management positions with Eden Roc Miami Beach, Fairmont Turnberry Isle and Fairmont Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen Mexico.

Olivier Servat has been named General Manager at The Langford Hotel

An industry veteran with more than 20 years in luxury hotel brand development and operations, Servat has spent the last two in Miami, having most recently served as general manager of Melia Hospitality International. There he was responsible for budgeting pre-opening activities for two 5-star hotel properties, Melia Costa Hollywood Hotel and ME by Melia Hotel, and managed all aspects of project planning across developer, general contractor and management company during the construction process. Prior to his time in Miami, Servat was based in Washington D.C., where he worked as a senior consultant at Steigenberger Hotels AG, as well as served the general manager at Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ W Hotel, Washington D.C.

Korollan King has been appointed as Vice President of Accounting at Virgin Hotels

Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel brand by Richard Branson, welcomes Korollan King as the new Vice President of Accounting. King, who is based in Miami, will oversee the brand's accounting and financial operations. Most recently, King served as the Corporate Director of Finance & FP&A at Nikki Beach International, where she oversaw financial statement preparation, budgeting, internal controls, process improvement, and cash management for the brand. She has also held several senior accounting positions at Ernst & Young, where she developed detailed audit plans and identified risks for the various business processes.

Andre Salles has been appointed as Investment Sales Director at Driftwood Acquisitions and Development (DAD)

Salles brings 20 years of business development and portfolio management experience to the team and will report to Alejandro Navia, Head of Sales and Marketing. Previously, Salles was chief commercial officer for MetroRio and served as portfolio director at BRMALLS, where he was responsible for property management and leasing and operations for twelve regional malls in Rio de Janeiro, with a net operating income of $188 million and 3.7 million sq. ft. of total GLA. He also served as sales and operations manager for IBM. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from PUC-Rio and an extension in marketing from the Kellogg School of Management.

Miranda brings over 22 years of hospitality experience and has worked closely with senior executives and hotel ownership groups including The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, LXR Luxury Resorts (an affiliate of The Blackstone Group), OTO Development and Hospitality Investors Group. Miranda will be responsible for providing vital operational and financial information from DAD’s management affiliate to DAD executives and general partners. Robert Lowe joins Mandarin Oriental, Miami from the Group’s property in Atlanta where he has been General Manager since 2012. Robert was instrumental in the rebranding of the Atlanta hotel, successfully positioning it as one of the city’s most recognized properties. Robert joined Mandarin Oriental in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing at the former Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco, and was later promoted to Resident Manager in 2005. He transferred in the same capacity to Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC in 2007 before moving to Mandarin Oriental, New York as Hotel Manager in 2010.

Marco Roca has been appointed as Analyst at Horwath HTL

Horwath announces the addition of Marco Roca, Jr. to his Miami consulting office. Marco is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia Honors Program, with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and International Political Economy. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was one of only 10 fully funded research scholars in his graduating class. During his time at the University of Georgia, Marco was able to study and work abroad in Spain, China, Antarctica, Australia, and Oxford, England. He most recently was an investment-banking intern with J.P. Morgan. He is fluent in Spanish, proficient in French and Portuguese, and is a tri-citizen of the United States, Mexico, and France.
