Nicholas Barry Owen has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Salamander Middleburg

Owens brings over 20+ years of international leadership experience in food and beverage across a global mix of luxury hospitality establishments. His background crosses a range of Four Seasons properties, where he served in roles overseeing all food and beverage operations as well as leading in the kitchen. In his most recent role as Director of Food & Beverage and Culinary Operations at the AAA Five Diamond Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residence New Orleans, where he oversaw five outlets and 30,000 sq. ft of event space, he achieved a slew of culinary accolades from Food & Wine, Esquire, and Southern Living, amongst others. Prior to that, he served as Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel & Residence Kyoto, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, and the Five-Star Five-Diamond Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC. He began his career at the acclaimed Clio Restaurant at the Eliot Hotel in Boston where he rose to lead cook within his first year.

Margaret Thwaites has been appointed as Area Director of Leisure Sales at Salamander Resort & Spa (Middleburg, VA) and Salamander Washington DC

As the Area Director of Leisure Sales for Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, VA and Salamander Washington DC, Margaret Thwaites oversees travel industry efforts for Salamander's flagship property and its newest addition. She began working with the company over four years ago as Director of Global Leisure Sales, before working directly with Half Moon in Jamaica and Salamander Resort & Spa. Previously, she was National Director of Travel Industry Sales for Kessler Collection, Director of Sales and Marketing for The Cove Eleuthera in The Bahamas, and Senior Sales Manager at The Setai in South Beach, Florida. She launched her career in various travel industry sales roles with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, which included Pentagon City, VA; and Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne and South Beach in Florida.

Star Haury has been appointed as Sales & Marketing Manager at The Goodstone Inn & Estate

Ms. Haury was previously Group Sales Manager for Blackberry Farm, the landmark property located in Walland, Tennessee. In this role, she experienced extraordinary success contributing significantly to the property’s sales revenues, and developed new business in both the corporate and social group markets. Leading up to this role, Star Haury held positions of increasing responsibility at Blackberry Farm, including Group Coordinator, Leisure Reservationist, Junior Staff Accountant and Front Desk Agent. Success in these positions provided important operational experience, which has proven invaluable to her professional growth within the hospitality industry.
