Tim Smith has been appointed as General Manager at The Pfister Hotel

Tim Smith, a nearly 30-year veteran of The Marcus Corporation, will oversee operations of the company’s flagship property, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wis. Smith joined the company in 1987 as an account executive at the Marc Plaza (now Hilton Milwaukee) and held various sales positions within the company. In 2005 he was named corporate director of sales and in 2007 he was promoted to his most recent position as general manager of InterContinental Milwaukee. Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.

Omar Naimi has been appointed as General Manager at InterContinental Milwaukee

Omar Naimi is the new general manager of the InterContinental Milwaukee. Naimi joined the company in 2011 as director of hotel operations and interim general manager of The Pfister Hotel. Prior to joining Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Naimi served as general manager of the Tanjung Rhu Resort and Spa in Langkawi, Malaysia. Prior to this role, Naimi spent 12 years with Marriott Hotels & Resorts working in operations and food and beverage positions at some of Marriott’s most luxurious properties. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H. and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in Stockholm, Sweden. He also holds a hotel diploma from the Hotel Institute Montreux in Montreux, Switzerland.

Nicholas Johnson has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Milwaukee

Rosemont, Ill.-based First Hospitality Group, Inc., (FHG) announced today the hiring of Nicholas Johnson as the general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Milwaukee. Johnson, a six year hospitality industry veteran, most recently served as the GM at the Ironworks Hotel in Beloit, Wisconsin, where he gained industry experience in hotel renovations, pre-opening, revenue management, operations management and leadership initiatives. The 129-room Hampton Inn is conveniently located next to Indiana University and Memorial Stadium, just a mile from downtown Bloomington.

Eric Grimm has been appointed as General Manager at Mason Street Grill at The Pfister Hotel

Grimm joins Marcus Hotels & Resorts with an extensive background in food and beverage, most recently serving as assistant general manager of Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Brookfield, Wis. In this role he was responsible for all front-of-restaurant operations and day-to-day management. Previously, he worked at T & J Hospitality Group in Tomah, Wis., where he was responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations for Three Bears Lodge and the opening of two independent pizzerias, where he doubled sales in a 12-month period. Grimm has also served in management positions at Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill, Ruby Tuesday Restaurant and Papa Murphy’s Pizza.

Ron Olstad has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Milwaukee

Previously, Olstad was a principal in a management consulting firm providing interim operational leadership for hotels in transition. Earlier in his career, he served in an asset management capacity for a portfolio of properties transitioning from trophy independent resorts to the Waldorf Astoria brand and spent 25 years in operational leadership, as well as in sales and marketing roles with Westin Hotels for both hotels and resorts.

Thomas F. Kissinger has been promoted to Senior Executive Vice President at The Marcus Corporation

The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS) today announced the promotion of Thomas F. Kissinger, 53, to senior executive vice president of The Marcus Corporation. In addition, the company announced the promotions of Steven S. Bartelt to director of legal affairs and Mary Beth Castino to director of risk management. Kissinger will continue to serve as The Marcus Corporation’s general counsel and secretary, and will assume added responsibilities for the human resources and corporate real estate departments. He will also work with the company’s two divisions on strategic planning.

Paul Ohm has been named General Manager at The Pfister® Hotel

Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that Paul Ohm has been appointed general manager of the AAA Four-Diamond Pfister® Hotel in Milwaukee, Wis. Ohm has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and previously served as general manager of the Fairmont Newport Beach, a 450-room luxury hotel in southern California.

Chris Anderson has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing And Brand Development at Marcus® Hotels & Resorts

Anderson joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2007 as vice president, sales. He was promoted to vice president, sales, marketing and revenue strategy in 2009. In this position, his responsibilities included establishing corporate revenue strategy and marketing teams focused on developing growth strategies that maximized all revenue channels, establishing a regional call center and developing overall brand strategies for the company’s hotels, restaurants, spas, golf courses and snow sports. Prior to joining Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Anderson spent 16 years with Marriott International. Most recently, he led the sales and marketing efforts at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, the largest hotel in Georgia. Some of his achievements included managing all aspects of the sales team for the 1,675 room convention hotel, managing the e-commerce, marketing communications and public relations teams, and executing a re-branding plan alongside a $138 million dollar renovation of the hotel. He began his career at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A resort in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, in 1993, working in convention service and sales. He later became a director of national accounts and director of sales for the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina in Tampa, Florida.

Peter Engel has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Marcus Hotels and Resorts

In his new role, he will direct the division’s technology strategy, implementation and operations. Engel joined The Marcus Corporation in 2004 as director of technology. A 30-year veteran of the information technology industry, he comes from a consulting and technology operations background. Prior to joining The Marcus Corporation, he served as president of Aperias Management Services, a consulting firm specializing in information technology and strategic management consulting services. Engel has 15 years of experience in the travel and leisure industry, including serving as chief operating officer for Trisept Solutions, and senior vice president at The Mark Travel Corporation. He is a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals and Hotel Technology Next Generation.
