Joe Tartamella has been appointed as Executive Chef at The MC, Autograph Collection

The MC, part of Marriott International's Autograph Collection Hotels and managed by Aparium Hotel Group, in the heart of Montclair, New Jersey's thriving artistic community, is pleased to announce Joe Tartamella as its new executive chef. In his new role, Chef Tartamella will be leading all culinary programming for the 159-room property and, since his recent appointment, has completely revamped all hotel menus, while also cultivating partnerships that tie back to the hotel's Montclair locale. As part of the hotel's culinary refresh, out-of-towners and Montclair residents will find inventive and inviting New American meets Mediterranean fare for breakfast, brunch/lunch, dinner, dessert and bar experiences at Allegory, the marquee lobby level restaurant. In addition to the relaunch of Allegory, Chef Tartamella has completely reimagined the consumer culinary experience at Alto, Montclair's only rooftop, and has introduced a variety of new shareable plates and light bites that appeal to every type of diner and taste palate. Chef Tartamella has also unveiled a new rooftop herb and vegetable garden for the hotel, has partnered with a local Beekeeper to harvest in-house honey, and has changed the hotel's lobby market concept to offer more hyper-local food and beverage.

Amber Lancaster has been appointed as Executive Chef at The MC Hotel

Amber Lancaster joins Aparium Hotel Group as Executive Chef for The MC Hotel, a boutique property located in the heart of Montclair, New Jersey. Lancaster will oversee menus for ALTO and Allegory as well as the event spaces at The MC Hotel. Lancaster brings over 10 years of experience in the food and beverage industry working at renowned establishments across Paris and Chicago. Named by Zagat as "9 Chefs to Know in Chicago," Lancaster has held positions at numerous Michelin star restaurants including Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris and Alinea in Chicago, as well as the historic Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. A native of Tucson, Arizona, Lancaster creates Contemporary American small plates inspired by her travels. Lancaster attended the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Paris, following in the footsteps of her culinary icon Julia Child earning her Le Grande Diplôme.

ALTO Rooftop at Montclair’s MC Hotel Welcoming Guests

The MC Hotel, in the heart of Montclair, NJ -- located just 45 minutes via car outside of New York City, has reopened doors to its popular ALTO rooftop, the City's only rooftop bar. Located on the ninth floor of the hotel through the building's Bloomfield Avenue entrance, the spacious rooftop space is now open for drinks Wednesdays - Sundays, with reservations encouraged through opentable.com. Guests can sip on a glass of sparkling rose or a handcrafted cocktail while enjoying sweeping views of the New York City skyline.
