Palm Beach is set to welcome its first new hotel in four years with the highly anticipated grand opening of Palm House this January, marking the debut U.S. property for London-based L+R Hotels' prestigious Iconic Luxury Hotels collection. Designed as a modern retreat that marries Palm Beach's enduring allure with contemporary luxury, Palm House offers a fresh take on relaxed exclusivity, blending classic charm with a playful wonderland-esque design. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the vibrant Palm Bar, where bartenders in white tuxedo jackets craft classic and inventive cocktails, all served at the luminous pink marble bar. The lobby itself feels like a living room to Palm Beach, featuring plush ruby-toned seating area, two floor-to-ceiling seashell "tapestries" reminiscent of an underwater fantasy world, a seashell adorned reception desk and three hand-blown coral Murano glass chandeliers specially designed for Palm House. The 79 spacious guest rooms and suites include an opulent two-story Presidential Suite features an impressive Alaskan King bed, the largest hotel bed in Palm Beach, and private balconies overlooking the pool. Other coveted room types include the Terrace Rooms opening out to the pool. Guestroom corridors showcase iconic Slim Aarons photography, paying homage to Palm Beach in the '50s and '60s. During its century-long history, it was initially owned by Colonel Edward R. Bradley, who ran a private and celebrated Beach Club casino on land that is today Bradley Park. For more than 20 years, the hotel served as a magnet for business tycoons and high rollers who frequented the salon. Over the decades that followed, the hotel remained a mainstay for seasonal visitors. In 1980, in part to its architectural significance, the hotel was listed with the Landmark Preservation Commission of Palm Beach.

From one vacation destination to another, Nantucket's iconic White Elephant Resort will open a sister property in Palm Beach in April 2020. Previews of the renovated historic hotel will begin in February, when their signature restaurant Lola 41 - a Nantucket staple - begins serving its globally-inspired dishes and local seafood specialties. The new hotel, being completely reimagined by Boston-based New England Development, represents the total renovation of the Bradley Park Hotel, which dates back to the 1920's and was one of the first hotels in the area. Draped in a neutral color palate, the property will bring seaside New England charm to South Florida.

Croke is a 30-year award-winning veteran of the hospitality industry who has a wealth of operations, sales and marketing experience. Most recently, Kevin served as General Manager of the Mayfair Hotel and Spa at Coconut Grove located in Miami. Prior to The Mayfair, he consulted for Starwood Hotels & Resorts on the conversion of the Viceroy Hotel to the W Hotel Miami. Coming to Palm Beach from Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, where he was Executive Chef for the past five years, Chef Martindale has a more than 20 year illustrious career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Having worked his way up through the ranks and gaining experience in Santa Barbara, Nevis, Vancouver and Dublin, the British Columbia-born chef headed to Whistler on task force for the 2010 Winter Olympics and it wasn't long before his talent earned him the Executive Chef role.

Donald Stamets has been appointed as Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach

Over the course of his career, Stamets has worked with a number of established hotels in the United States. He has dedicated his career to five Ritz-Carlton hotels over the past decade, including properties in Orlando, South Beach and Amelia Island, Fla., as well as Boston and Rancho Mirage, Calif. His experience at these establishments ranged from handling major meetings and events to directing and managing the entire hotel staff. Prior to becoming part of The Ritz-Carlton team, Stamets began his hotel tenure at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles, where he spent six years and received 11 promotions. Stamets is a graduate of the esteemed Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and graduated Cum Laude.

Peter Willis has been appointed as Senior VP of Hotel Acquisitions & Business Development at Fisher Property Group

In his new role, he will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and structuring transactions for hotel assets and management contracts. Immediately prior to joining Fisher Property Group, Willis was senior vice president at The Kor Group, where he played a lead role in sourcing, negotiating and underwriting hotel investments and management contract prospects in addition to supporting strategic acquisitions and corporate planning efforts. Willis rejoins the executive team of the REIT, formerly known as Innkeepers USA Trust, including CEO Jeffrey Fisher and Senior Vice President of Hotel Development Richard Mielbye, who will continue to lead the effort on all ground-up developments, as well as other senior executive team members. During his tenure at Innkeepers from 2002 to 2006, Willis was vice president of acquisitions, where he oversaw $500 million in investments involving more than 18 hotels.
