Pierre-Frédéric Roulot has been appointed as CEO at Groupe du Louvre, the new European headquarters of Jin Jiang International

Pierre-Frédéric Roulot will be responsible for implementing Jin Jiang International’s development strategies in Europe, diversifying its activities and continuing to enhance the performance of Louvre Hotels Group, the hospitality subsidiary, of which he remains Acting CEO pending the appointment of a successor. In early January, Pierre-Frédéric Roulot, CEO of Louvre Hotels Group, was appointed by its shareholder, Jin Jiang International, to the position of CEO of Groupe du Louvre, a holding company of the second biggest European hotel group and now the European headquarters of the Chinese consortium. This appointment confirms Jin Jiang International’s ambitions in Europe and its desire to strengthen not only its hospitality activities, but also to seize new opportunities in similar sectors where Jin Jiang is present in its local markets. During his meeting last spring with Laurent Fabius, French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Yu Minliang, chairman of Jin Jiang International, told the minister of his desire to make France the platform for his group in Europe. -Pending the appointment of a new leader for Louvre Hotels Group, Pierre-Frédéric Roulot will be acting CEO and will continue to chair the Group, giving priority to the development and strengthening of the Campanile and Golden Tulip hotel brands in China.

Paris outraged! But Paris is liberated!

Every cloud has a silver lining... and this has proved true once again after the ordeals experienced in Paris twice this year. With a sigh of relief, the city of light felt the immense space it holds in the hearts of its citizens and the world in general and tourists in particular. The wave of solidarity, testimonials of support and humanist reactions from around the world somehow smooth over the bad reputation France has often been had to bear. For many, the attack France, was an attack on a symbol that goes well beyond its own borders and deserves to have all positive energies rise up against a new form of inhumanity.

Parisian hotels will bounce back, experts say | HotelNewsNow.com

Industry observers expect the Parisian hotel industry to bounce back following terrorist attacks on 13 November at six locations in the city, which so far have resulted in 129 deaths, according to reports. But sources said it might take longer after this incident than it did for previous ones. Hilton Paris Opera is First Hotel in European Continent to Recycle Discarded Soap through Clean the World

In celebration of Global Handwashing Day Hilton Worldwide (NYSE:HLT) and Clean the World today announced that Hilton Paris Opera is the first ever hotel in continental Europe to partner with Clean the World. Hilton Paris Opera will lead the European roll-out of Clean the World by contributing discarded soap and bottled amenities that will be recycled to benefit European citizens who are at risk for hygiene-related illnesses. As the world's largest soap recycler, Clean the World has contributed to a 30 percent reduction in pre-adolescent deaths from hygiene-related illnesses since 2009. Hilton signed a master agreement with Clean the World earlier this year making it the organization's largest hotel partner.

French Hotel Industry Performance - June 2015

Further to a lacklustre month of May with destinations posting conflicting results, June seemed to herald a recovery throughout France. Depending on the category and zone, this recovery amplified the positive results or helped make up for the negative performances recorded since the start of the year. The good weather and the announced beginning of economic recovery doubtless favoured this, although June 2015 is being compared to June 2014 which was particularly quiet given the lack of major events.

France forbids rate parity clauses by law - HOTREC Reports

On 9 July 2015, the French National Assembly took an important decision by adopting in the final vote of the 'Law Macron' the deletion of any rate parity clauses from contracts between hoteliers and Online Travel Agents and qualifying the term of the contracts as "mandate contract". This is the first decision at legislative level in Europe to ban explicitly rate parity clauses from such contracts. With this decision hoteliers in France regain their entrepreneurial freedom and will be able to offer their customers any trade or tariff advantage they consider appropriate. France is thus the second country after Germany, where public authorities decide to ban rate parity clauses from OTA contracts.

French Hotel Industry Performance - May 2015

A mixed bag in May: some regional destinations post real growth in RevPAR, with Paris, Lille, Marseille and others recording a drop. Does the explanation lie in the bank holidays or the timing of the school holidays? In May, the French hotel industry was laughing one day and crying the next. Results varied widely throughout France, with some destinations recording sharp drops in RevPAR and others strong growth.
