Grand Hotel Kronenhof Unveils Rochon Renovation Of Its Bel Étage

Grand Hotel Kronenhof (www.kronenhof.com) in Pontresina has re-opened for the summer season with a contemporary new look to its bel étage, which includes the reception, lobby lounge, bar and reading room. Subtle but luxurious changes have been made by the award-winning French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR Design) in order to bring the neo-Baroque Grande Dame (built in 1848) into the 21st century while maintaining key historic elements.

For the winter 2020/21 season (starting 10 December), Grand Hotel Kronenhof (www.kronenhof.com) in Pontresina will unveil 15 newly-renovated rooms and suites by the award-winning French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who has also worked on the Four Seasons George V in Paris, the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, The Savoy in London and sister property Kulm Hotel St. Moritz. Up to four rooms can be linked making these new rooms ideal for families and multi-generational travel.

Marc Eichenberger has been appointed as Director at Grand Hotel Kronenhof

As of 1 April 2013, Marc Eichenberger will assume the position of Director of Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina, with responsibility for the hotel’s day-to-day operations. A 37-year-old Swiss national, Marc Eichenberger is a graduate of the Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern, where he qualified as an Hotelier and Restaurateur. He has extensive knowledge of the luxury hotel segment in Switzerland, having previously worked at the Arabella Sheraton Atlantis Hotel Baur au Lac in Zurich, Park Weggis Hotel in Lake Lucerne and Suvretta House in St. Moritz; the four years he spent at the latter means he also has excellent knowledge of the Engadine Valley. Both the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and its sister property Grand Hotel Kronenhof are owned by the Niarchos family.
