Thais Magri has been appointed as Senior Sales Manager U.S. Market at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Magri has served in several different roles throughout her decade long career in the luxury hospitality industry, most recently as leisure and corporate senior sales manager for a luxury resort in Los Angeles, which she helped successfully launch. Previously, Magri spent five years at another Southern California resort, where she made her way from reservations sales associate to front desk supervisor followed by three years as reservations manager. Magri graduated from SENAC University in Sao Paulo, Brazil with a B.A. in hospitality and tourism management. She went on to continue her education and later earned a business management certificate from the University of California, San Diego.

Carl Emberson has been appointed as General Manager at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

With a career spanning three decades, mostly in Latin America, Emberson’s impeccable credentials include 13 years as general manager of hotels in Brazil and Argentina. Prior to this, Emberson spent eight years in Valle de Las Leñas Resort in Mendoza, one of the Argentina’s premium winter resorts where he served in several roles, including general manager and food & beverage director for the resort’s five hotels and 20 restaurants. Emberson’s entrepreneurial and diverse background includes many years as a successful restaurateur and caterer in Argentina and Uruguay, making him well-suited to manage The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort’s three unique restaurants, including the AAA Five Diamond restaurant, Carolina. Early in his career, he launched several notable restaurants in Buenos Aires including La Pomme in Punta del Este; BICE Ristorante, the first restaurant to be opened in Puerto Madero; Due Ristorante; Valle de Las Lenas; and a catering business that served the area’s hotels and businesses. Emberson graduated with honors from the prestigious Les Roches – Swiss School of Hotel Management. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of Make a Wish Foundation Brazil, as well as at the Australian International Business School in Brazil and is a Judge for HOTELS magazine’s “2010 Best 10 Hotel Restaurants in the World.”
