Dual-Branded Le Méridien and Element Salt Lake City Downtown to Open Mid-January 2023

The Ritchie Group, a Salt Lake City based development group, announced today that Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown and Element Salt Lake City Downtown will open mid-January 2023. This is the first dual-pad property in Salt Lake City, as well as the first Le Méridien and Element combination of Marriott brands. Additionally, this is the first Le Méridien in the state of Utah and the first hotel with a full-scale rooftop bar in the market. Salt Lake City's newest property is managed by Azul Hospitality Group, a San Diego-based hospitality management platform that provides an innovative approach to maximizing performance.

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Officially Debuts

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today the 25-story Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City officially opened its doors on October 17, debuting as the first Hyatt Regency hotel in Utah and the only hotel directly adjoining the Salt Palace Convention Center. The anticipated arrival of one of the city's largest hotel developments positions Salt Lake City as a top destination for hosting world-class events, adding 60,000 square feet of event space just steps from the many cultural experiences and outdoor pursuits the city has to offer.

700-Key Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Opening Announced for October 2022

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, the first Hyatt Regency hotel in Utah, is set to debut October 2022. Pina Purpero has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City announced the appointment of Pina Purpero as the hotel's general manager of the 700-room convention hotel, slated to open fall of 2022. Most recently, Purpero served as general manager at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle's Southport where she was responsible for all facets of hotel management, including sales and marketing, food and beverage, revenue management and rooms operations. Prior to this, Purpero was general manager of The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, where she led the luxury hotel's overall operation through an extensive renovation and repositioning. 

Jeff Olpin has been appointed as General Manager at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City

Kimpton Monaco Salt Lake City announces the hire of Jeffrey Olpin as its new general manager. Olpin brings 20 years of award-winning industry experience to the Monaco, with his most recent role serving as the Chief Operations Officer for Sequoia hospitality where he launched best-in-class employee and guest relations programs and led key operational strategies for the brand. Olpin is a familiar face to the downtown Kimpton property as he previously held the hotel manager position from 2006-2008.

Jarrod Finley has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City

In his role, Finley will develop and implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives to help achieve a variety of objectives for the 700-room convention hotel. Long-Anticipated Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Convention Center Hotel Breaks Ground

After extensive planning, Visit Salt Lake, Salt Lake County, Portman Holdings and Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the plans, timeline and details of the long-awaited and much-anticipated Salt Lake convention center hotel during a groundbreaking ceremony held Friday, January 10, at the Salt Palace Convention Center.The 700-room Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City will be located on the southeast corner of the lot on which the Salt Palace Convention Center sits and be built adjacent to the convention center's public space. The 25-floor property will offer 60,000-square feet of indoor meeting space, including a 23,138-square foot Regency Ballroom and a 14,682-square foot junior ballroom, as well as 7,400-square feet of outdoor event space. Estimated to cost $377 million, the project is scheduled to be completed and hosting its first guests in October 2022. The hotel will have a restaurant on the first floor, a lobby bar, another restaurant and fitness center on the sixth floor, adjacent to an outdoor amenity area that will include a pool and terrace for events and other activities.The Salt Lake convention hotel project is being partially financed through the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program which allows for specialty financing to enable green energy design and implementation, one of the first ground-up developments to utilize this program in Utah. The hotel will be directly connected to the Salt Palace for seamless access to meeting and convention attendees staying at the hotel or utilizing its offerings.

Springhill Suites By Marriott To Open Doors In Salt Lake City, Utah

Marriott International announced that the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City, Utah opened on October 24. The 125-suite hotel, located at 2206 South 1300 East, will operate as a Marriott franchise owned by Wilmington Hotel, LLC, whose managing partners are the principals of Woodbury Corporation, Colmena Group, and Dees, Inc. The hotel will be managed by Woodbury Corporation of Salt Lake City, Utah.
