Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced today that it has signed a management contract to manage, and ultimately brand, a 310-room hotel currently operating in Santiago, Chile. The Group will take over management of the property from August 2017, and rename it Hotel Santiago. Following an extensive guestroom and public area renovation, the first stage of which is scheduled to complete in August 2018, the hotel will be rebranded Mandarin Oriental, Santiago. This will be the Group's first property in South America.
Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Parque Arauco S.A. today announced the signing of a management agreement to operate a new build 401-room Hilton hotel in Santiago, Chile - bringing the company's flagship brand to the country. Hilton Santiago Las Condes will form part of the Parque Arauco Kennedy Shopping Mall complex expansion project scheduled to begin construction next year and debut in 2021. The project, owned and developed by Parque Arauco S.A., will include a Convention Center, new retail outlets, 700 parking spaces and the Hilton managed hotel.

Chile will be the first country in the southern cone in La Quinta's expansion strategy in Latin America, with a franchise agreement for an LQ Hotel by La Quinta with the Chilean company Inmobiliaria e Inversiones Profit Summit Limitada.
