Kristina Snaith-Lense has been appointed as General Manager at The House Collective Shenzhen

Following an almost five year tenure as GM at The Upper House, Kristina will take the helm at the new House in Shenzen ahead of its highly anticipated launch in 2027. The Shenzhen House marks Swire Hotels' first new opening in nine years and its entry into one of the fastest-growing cities in the Greater Bay Area. Kristina will also oversee wellness projects for Swire Hotels, drawing on her deep expertise and personal passion for bringing wellbeing into every aspect of the guest experience. During her 13-year journey with Swire Hotels, Kristina has risen from Assistant Director of Guest Experience to General Manager for The Upper House in 2021. With Kristina at the helm, the House has soared to global recognition, landing a spot in the top five of The World's 50 Best Hotels for two consecutive years and earning accolades for its innovative Wellness Residencies.

Swire Hotels announces 2025 opening plans for another new House in Shenzhen Bay, China

Swire Hotels is delighted to announce that it has entered into a hotel management agreement with a privately held property developer to operate an ultra-luxury hotel in the heart of Shenzhen Bay, otherwise known regionally as the Greater Bay Area. Targeted to open in 2025, the as-yet unnamed House will be the first property in Shenzhen under The House Collective brand. This management agreement marks another key milestone in Swire Hotels' expansion plan, following the announcement in July of a new House in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center Opens for Business

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the opening of Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, the largest comprehensive convention and exhibition center in Asia Pacific and the only hotel directly connected to the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The hotel is owned by Shenzhen Zhaohua International Exhibition Development Co., Ltd., and managed by Hilton.

Adam Cheng has been appointed as General Manager at Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan

Mr. Cheng began his hospitality career as Management Trainee in Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong. He joined Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan in January 2015, the brand's flagship hotel in Asia Pacific, as General Manager for hotel's pre-opening. The expertise Mr. Cheng demonstrated during daily operations, team-coaching, leadership and customer service has enabled him to be particular about details when it comes to these projects. Under Mr. Cheng's guidance, the hotel managed to generate net operating profit (NOP) in the first full month operation and was awarded the Food & Beverage Operation of the Year and Financial Excellence Award and Hotel of the Year in 2017. Additionally, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan ranked first out of 2,800 hotels in the market for 18 consecutive months from 2016 to 2017 on Tripadvisor.

Muji to open hotels in China and Japan

Japanese retailer Muji is set to open hotels in Shenzhen, China and Tokyo, Japan, which will be styled with the minimalist brand's furnishings and products. The first Muji Hotel will open in Shenzhen later this year, while the second has just broken ground in Tokyo's Chūō City and is slated for completion in 2019. While details about both projects are currently vague, Business Insider Japan reported that the Shenzhen hotel will include 79 rooms and feature recycled wood interiors. Early models of the suites are shown to be compact and minimally styled.
