Akshay Kulkarni has been appointed as Director at CBRE Hotels Asia

CBRE Hotels is pleased to announce that it has appointed Akshay Kulkarni as Director, CBRE Hotels Asia. Mr Kulkarni’s appointment will enhance CBRE Hotels’ service capability in terms of hospitality operations, consulting and brokerage across Asia.Mr Kulkarni held a senior role in Cushman & Wakefield’s hospitality team for the past eight years prior to recently joining CBRE. Based in Singapore, Mr Kulkarni will report to Mr McIntosh.

Andrew Turner has been appointed as Vice President Acquisitions, Asia at Mantra Group

Following a record year of acquisitions and growth in 2015, Mantra Group has appointed well-known hotel industry executive, Andrew Turner to the newly created position of Vice President Acquisitions, Asia. Based at Mantra Group’s new regional office in Singapore, from late February, Andrew will drive the Group’s expansion into new Asian markets.

Camilla Chiam has been appointed as Vice President of PR and Communications at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group - Asia Pacific

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of Camilla Chiam as vice president of PR and Communications for Asia Pacific. She reports directly to Thorsten Kirschke, president, Asia Pacific, and will be a member of the Asia Pacific Executive Committee. Camilla will lead the PR and Communications team in developing and implementing strategies to increase the visibility and further enhance the perception of Carlson Rezidor and its hotel brands, in support of the Group’s expansion in Asia Pacific. She will be in charge of the region’s internal and external communications activities, increasing Carlson Rezidor’s share of voice in the media and public sphere, as well as providing strategic counsel to senior leadership on crisis communications, reputation management issues and on brand application, as the corporate brand ambassador for the region. Before joining Carlson Rezidor, Camilla was Head, Group Corporate Communications, at Pontiac Land Group and Patina Hotels & Resorts, where she provided strategic counsel regarding the Group’s assets and oversaw brand implementation and all communications and public relations strategies. Prior to that, she was Director of Public Relations at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Marketing Communications Manager at Jetstar Asia Airways and Valuair, and also worked as a journalist in Singapore and Los Angeles. Camilla has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

Christopher Chung has been appointed as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing Southeast Asia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific recently announced the appointment of Christopher Chung as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood in Southeast Asia. Under this role, Chris is responsible for overseeing the overall strategic sales and marketing direction for all 31 Starwood hotels in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, covering ten world-renowned hospitality brands, including St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Westin, Sheraton, Le Méridien, Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft, Element and Tribute Portfolio.

Jens Uwe Parkitny has been appointed as Company Advisor, Asia-Pacific at TrustYou

TrustYou announced today that Jens Uwe Parkitny will serve as the company’s new advisor in the Asia-Pacific market. Jens is an online travel veteran who started his career as a Senior Producer in Microsoft’s Travel Business Unit in 1997, the division that launched the online travel agency Expedia. Peter Yap has been appointed as Country Director at FASTBOOKING

Laurent Auzanneau has been promoted to CEO Engineering & Construction Project Worldwide at Sodexo

Laurent AUZANNEAU ESSEC IMHI 1990 was recently given the responsibility as CEO to lead the Engineering & Construction Projects Worldwide for Sodexo. Laurent joined Sodexo in 1990 in France as Operations Manager in the HealthCare segment. There, he learned the fundamentals of the industry. This was the beginning of his long and successful career with the Group. Laurent moved on two years later to Sodexo in The Congo to work in the Remote Sites business and more specifically the oil & gas offshore environment, for which he has had a passion since. He later moved to Saudi Arabia as Regional Manager, based in Riyadh. After four enriching years, he was promoted to Country Manager in Qatar as this country began to grow exponentially. Laurent stayed in the Middle East a total of 7 years and continued to develop Remote Site markets in addition to launching Sodexo services in the Education and Corporate segments. He moved to Jakarta shortly after Sodexo acquired Universal; a US based company specialized in the offshore segment with activities in Asia. In 2005, Laurent was promoted to Senior Vice President for Remote Sites activities in the Asia-Pacific Zone. In 2007, the Group enlarged his responsibilities to include the Corporate, Education, Healthcare and Defense segments in the region.
