IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially opened its first resort in Guam, Crowne Plaza Resort Guam, with a grand opening reception on Tuesday 28 March to celebrate the unveiling of the iconic beachfront hotel. The brand's debut in Guam ushers in a new era of growth and world-class accommodation in Micronesia following the opening of Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan in November 2022.
Dusit International, one of Thailand's leading hotel and property development companies, has expanded its management agreement with Tanota Partners, a Guam real estate investment and property development company, to operate the deluxe Dusit Beach Resort Guam and adjoining luxury shopping center, The Plaza. The partnership marks the newest additions to its Guam portfolio consisting of the luxury Dusit Thani Guam Resort, which opened in 2015 and which also adjoins The Plaza.
IHG has made its foray into Micronesia following the signing of an agreement with owner Tan Holdings to take on management of Fiesta Resort Guam.

Solberg was most recently a general manager with Marriott International. Prior to that, he spent seven years with PCH Hotels and Resorts, the leading management company for full-service Marriott hotel products, as chief executive officer. Holberg has also been general manager and chief operating officer at Grand Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa in Point Clear, Alabama, and general manager at the Embassy Suites Hotel in New York City. His career highlights also include general manager positions with Promus Hotels and The Kimpton Hotel Group. Solberg has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in Michigan.
