Neil McDonald has been appointed as Area Manager NSW and General Manager at Mantra 2 Bond Street

New to Mantra Group, Neil McDonald has been appointed General Manager Mantra 2 Bond Street and Area Manager for NSW. In this role he will oversee Mantra on Kent, BreakFree on George, BreakFree on Clarence and Mantra Wollongong. His management career started on Hayman Island Resort as Food and Beverage Manager and progressed to Hotel Manager at Radisson Plaza Hotel before his first General Manager position with Radisson Darling Harbour Hotel. Neil moved to China with Regent Hotels to open their flagship property “The Regent Shanghai” before joining Starwood Hotels to open Sheraton Hotels in Suzhou and Shanghai. Most recently Neil was the Cluster Managing Director for Sheraton Hotels in Qingdao, China.

Jeremy Nordkamp has been appointed as General Manager at Peppers Docklands Melbourne

With the much anticipated opening scheduled for January 2016, Jeremy Nordkamp has been appointed General Manager of Peppers Docklands Melbourne – a new build mixed-use development in collaboration with Capital Alliance. Jeremy has made the move to Melbourne to manage the hotel in its pre-opening phase having previously held General Manager positions at Mantra on Edward Brisbane and Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas. This is Mantra Group’s first Melbourne hotel for its high end Peppers brand and part of strategic CBD acquisitions and new developments taking place for the respected brand.

Stefan Kracke has been promoted to Area Manager North Queensland and General Manager at Peppers Beach Club & Spa

Stefan Kracke will replace Chris Northam as Area Manager North Queensland and General Manager Peppers Beach Club & Spa, promoted from his current General Manager role at Peppers Blue on Blue in Magnetic Island. Stefan will also oversee Mantra Trilogy, Mantra Esplanade, and BreakFree Royal Harbour in Cairns; Mantra Amphora in Palm Cove, Peppers Beach Club in Port Douglas and Peppers Blue on Blue Magnetic Island. Stefan is a highly experienced hotelier who having held previous General Manager positions with Accor in New Zealand and Fiji having started his career in boutique hotels in his native Germany. Stefan’s leadership skills and ability to integrate activity with local tourism authorities will ensure the continued success of the North Queensland hotels.

Van Phan has been appointed as Operations Excellence Manager at Starwood Hotels & Resorts

In Van’s role as Regional Manager, Operational Excellence, she will be responsible for the new builds and transitions (NB&T) phase of new projects, for ensuring brand standards are implemented and operational efficiencies and best practices are shared across properties.Having worked as part of the NB&T team in Starwood’s Singapore Divisional Office, Van brings extensive and valuable experience to the role. In her new role, Van Phan will report to Sean Hunt, Regional Vice President for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Pacific.

Tricia Cornelius has been appointed as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Queensland and Northern Territory at AccorHotels

AccorHotels is delighted to announce the appointment of Tricia Cornelius into the role of Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Queensland and Northern Territory. Tricia is stepping into the shoes of Charlotte Gutte who has been appointed to the newly created role of National Director of Sales – Meetings & Events, based at AccorHotels’ head office in Sydney, reporting to Henrik Berglind, Vice President – Sales, Distribution and Loyalty Australia.

James Wyndham has been promoted to General Manager at Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa

In his new role, James is responsible for the operation of Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley where he will lead the continued innovation of extraordinary guest experiences that celebrate The Blue Mountains. James joined Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley as Resort Manager earlier this year following his transfer from Atlantis, The Palm, the flagship entertainment destination resort of Kerzner International. At Atlantis, James successfully held the position of Vice President, Guest Relations of the iconic resort for 4 years. He started his career in hospitality over two decades ago and has worked for multiple international hospitality groups. James was also involved with the opening of One&Only Hayman Island where he played a key role as part of the pre-opening task force.

Lisa Brown has been appointed General Manager, Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa. Lisa commenced her hospitality career in 2001 as Reservations Supervisor for Twin Towns Resort in Tweed Heads. Progressing to roles of Front Office Manager, Senior Assistant Manager/Project Manager and Resort Manager for the Mantra Group; this is Lisa’s first appointment with AccorHotels.

Thomas Klotz has been appointed as General Manager at Novotel Newcastle Beach Hotel

Thomas Klotz has been appointed General Manager, Novotel Newcastle. Thomas first joined the AccorHotels network in Germany, gaining extensive operations experience. In 2009, Thomas transferred to the Australian AccorHotels network, taking on the role of General Manager at the All Seasons Katherine, now an ibis Styles hotel. His most recent role was General Manager, Ibis Newcastle.

Richard Holt has been appointed as General Manager at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour

Richard Holt has been appointed General Manager, Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour. Richard commenced his career with AccorHotels in 2001 at the Darling Harbour Hotels and achieved his first General Manager appointment in March 2003 at Novotel Manly. He was appointed General Manager Novotel Brighton Beach in October 2005. Richard was then appointed General Manager, Swiss Grand Resort & Spa Bondi Beach. His most recent role was General Manager, Mercure Sydney Airport.
