BHG, Brazil Hospitality Group, to Manage the 140-room Tulip Inn Hotel Under Development in Campos de Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Braz

Brazil Hospitality Group hereby announces that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with PDG for the management of a hotel project to be developed in Campos de Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro state. This will be the second project operated by BHG in the municipality: in December 2010, the Company announced the construction of a 140-room Tulip Inn hotel in the selected services standard under development in the same city.

Holiday Inn Express Maceió Ponta Verde Opens in Brazil

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group And Atlantica Hotels International Announces The Opening Of The Radisson Hotel Belem, Brazil

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, with its partner Atlantica Hotels International, has announced the opening of the Radisson Hotel Belem. The project is the seventh Radisson property in Brazil and the first Atlantica Hotel in the state of Pará. Located in a prime area of Belém, the 14-floor hotel has 156 guestrooms and is just 20 minutes from the modern International Airport Val de Cans.

Still lots investment required in Brazil for FIFA World Cup 2014 and Olympia 2016

The two biggest sport events on the planet are causing huge investments in Brazil: According to an analysis conducted by GTAI (Germany Trade & Invest) approximately 40 billion Euro in 12 cities are expected to be invested for the FIFA World Cup (12th June until 13th Juli 2014) and for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (5th until 21st August 2016). Infrastructure investment plans include airports, stadiums, local public traffic, security, energy, environmental technology as well as hotels. An analysis carried out by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the leading online database for global hotel construction projects (www.tophotelprojects.com), revealed that currently 18 new international first class and luxury hotels with about 2,800 guest rooms are in the development pipeline.

André Carvalhal has been appointed as regional general manager for Latin America at Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT)

Under the leadership of Håkan Ericsson, president, CWT Americas, one leadership team will now oversee operations across the Americas. André Carvalhal will assume the expanded role of regional general manager for Latin America, based in Brazil. He succeeds Marino Faccini, who is retiring after a successful 43-year career at CWT. Carvalhal has been with CWT since 1997 and has successfully led CWT Brazil for the past five years throughout a period of extensive growth in the country.

Accor opens its 150th hotel in Brazil with the Novotel Porto Alegre Aeroporto

Accor opens the 11th hotel of its midscale brand Novotel in Brazil with its historical local partner, Atrio Hotéis, specialized in the development and management of hotels, and with Prisma Engenharia, a real estate company. Both partners invested BRL 30 million to develop this 166-room hotel.

Starwood Announces New Sheraton Hotel in Northeast Brazil

Sheraton® Hotels & Resorts today announced the signing of the Sheraton Reserva do Paiva Hotel and Convention Center, a new project in Pernambuco state in the northeast region of Brazil. The Sheraton Reserva do Paiva is being developed by the Portuguese group Promovalor and the Brazilian group Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias and will be the first five star hotel in Reserva do Paiva, located approximately 30 minutes from Recife, as part of the third phase of this planned community. The hotel is scheduled to open in March 2014.
