Romain Chan has been appointed as Area General Manager, China at Pan Pacific Hotels Group

Pan Pacific Hotels Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Romain Chan as Area General Manager, China and General Manager, Pan Pacific Suzhou. romain chanRomain brings to our Group over 30 years of industry experience spanning China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines and the United States. He started his career at the Front Office of Hilton Hong Kong and gained extensive operational experience at business and luxury hotels across Hong Kong, Macau and China prior to being appointed Assistant Director of Front Office Operations at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. In 1994, Romain assumed his first General Manager position at the Century Saigon Hotel in Vietnam. In no time, Romain was tasked to concurrently oversee three Century hotels in the Philippines. Since then, he has managed properties under the Shangri-La and Harbour Plaza brands in China. Romain is no stranger to Pan Pacific Hotels Group, having helmed Pan Pacific Ningbo from 2014 to 2016, where he delivered outstanding results in a challenging market and achieved record numbers in guest satisfaction and revenue growth. In his new role, Romain will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the brand’s properties in China, namely Pan Pacific Tianjin, Pan Pacific Xiamen, Pan Pacific Ningbo and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo, as well as Pan Pacific Beijing when it opens early next year. This will be in addition to his role as General Manager of Pan Pacific Suzhou.

Robby Qiu has been appointed as Vice President - Development, China at Rosewood Hotel Group

Mr. Qiu brings 12 years experience in hotel development, asset management, feasibility studies and legal services to Rosewood Hotel Group, with three years working for Trump Hotel Collection as chief country executive and vice president development and acquisition in mainland China. Previously, he was with AccorHotels Group for seven years with his last position held as senior director of development for Greater China. Mr. Qiu began his career with Blake Dawson Waldron International Law Firm in Australia after acquiring a master’s degree in contract law and company law at the University of Manchester, U.K.
