Philip Smith has been appointed as General Manager at Fairmont Chengdu

Fairmont Chengdu in China has named Philip Smith as general manager. A hospitality professional of more than 30 years, Smith will be in charge of providing leadership for pre-opening activity at the hotel, which is expected to open in late 2015, as well as the ongoing operations support post opening. Smith was previously the general manager of the Fairmont Yangcheng Lake.

Christoph Schmidinger has been promoted to Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong

With William Mackay's recent promotion to the senior operations leadership role based in Singapore, William is passing the baton to another Four Seasons veteran, Christoph Schmidinger, who will assume the position as Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Prior to the move to Hong Kong, Christoph held the position as Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel New York, where he has steered the Hotel in becoming the leader in luxury hospitality in New York City. In his 21 years with Four Seasons, before his current posting in the Big Apple in 2004, Christoph was the General Manager at Four Seasons properties in Chicago, Atlanta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

Michael Murphy has been appointed as General Manager at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain

ichael Murphy has been appointed general manager of Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, the group’s premier property being developed in China. Scheduled to open in early 2015, the stunning property is located at the picturesque gateway to the majestic Qing Cheng Mountain and has been created to complement the UNESCO World Heritage & Natural Cultural site nearby to Dujiangyan.
