Welcoming the IntercityHotel Saarbrücken

A new opening is about to take place at the very heart of Europe. The four-star IntercityHotel Saarbrücken will become the next hotel to operate under the brand when it opens for business on 1 July 2020. It is located opposite the Congress Hall, right in the city centre as usual, and offers 170 comfortable guest rooms designed by the Italian architect Matteo Thun as well as a restaurant, a BistroLounge and five conferencing and events rooms. The main station is only 300 metres away. Sights such as Saarbrücken Castle and various museums are easily accessible on foot. The project has been developed in conjunction with the ALTIN-Immobiliengruppe.

Eckart Pfannkuchen has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg

47-year old Eckart Pfannkuchen has been appointed General Manager of the 131-room Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg. In this new capacity, he will be responsible in future for all operational and administrative business areas of the hotel. Mr. Pfannkuchen, who is shortly to become a father for the third time, has a wealth of experience in the upscale hotel sector. He most recently acted as Director of the Grand Spa Resort A-Rosa Sylt, and his career has also included stints at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, the Rocco Forte Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Chedi Muscat and the Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

Thomas Wilken has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Sanssouci Potsdam

42-year old Thomas Wilken has been appointed General Manager of the 137-room MAXX by Steigenberger Sanssouci Potsdam with effect from 1 June 2020. In his new capacity, Mr. Wilken will be responsible for all operational and administrative business areas of the hotel. The previous Director Thomas Schneider is leaving the company at the end of June in order to relocate to Belgium. Mr. Schneider will, however, be making his experience and expertise available to his successor in the meantime.Thomas Wilken has gained valuable experience of his own during the past few years as a Director of Operations and Executive Assistant Manager. His employers have included the Marriott and Kempinski hotel groups. After completing his upper secondary school leaving certificate, Mr. Wilken trained as a cook at the Sansibar Restaurant on the Island of Sylt before embarking upon a hotel management training programme with Marriott International.

IntercityHotel Is Now Represented Four Times In Hamburg

Deutsche Hospitality is expanding its presence in Hamburg. The IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek will become the fourth IntercityHotel in the city when it opens for business on 2 June. The hotel is a new build offering 221 guest rooms and studios with modern furnishings and fittings, five conference rooms able to accommodate up to 170 people and a restaurant. It will operate in the upper midscale segment. The owners and contractual partners are the Hamburg-based B&L Group, with which Deutsche Hospitality has already successfully executed projects in a number of German cities, and the real estate company Development Partner from Düsseldorf.

Katrin Schöfer has been appointed as Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Cycas Hospitality

Also based in Germany is Katrin Schöfer, the newest addition to Cycas's expanding central finance team. As the company's Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Intelligence, Katrin will maximise synergies between the development and finance departments, and help incorporate enhanced business intelligence into the company's long-term plans. With experience across a number of leisure companies, including Lufthansa AirPlus, she joins the team from Penta Hotels, where she oversaw their global financial reporting processes.

Daniel Bowen has been appointed as Development Director for the DACH region at Cycas Hospitality

Last month Daniel Bowen joined Cycas's Development and Acquisition team, becoming Development Director for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Joining Cycas from Dorint Hotels & Resorts, Daniel brings ten years' experience as a German hotel developer and previously helped Novum Hospitality expand its portfolio. Working with Cycas's Chief Development Officer, Asli Kutlucan, Daniel's will be responsible for growing the company's presence across Germany - including strong secondary cities - through strategic partnerships and portfolio acquisitions.

Radisson Hotel Group Set To Debut Its First Radisson Red In Germany

Radisson Hotel Group is proud to announce the signing of the first Radisson RED hotel in Germany with developer GERCHGROUP. The new Radisson RED Cologne will be located in a central city location, just a stone's throw from the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cologne Cathedral. The new development will integrate well into the "Laurenz Carré", a modern urban district that also features office and retail spaces.
