Orient Express will open its second hotel in Italy

Legendary travel brand Orient Express, part of the world-leading Accor group, has signed a partnership agreement with Italian hospitality group Arsenale S.p.A to open the second Orient Express hotel in Italy at the spectacular Palazzo Donà Giovannelli in Venice. The Groups have selected architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d'Amman and her studio Culture in Architecture to design and decorate the space.

324-Key Hampton Planned close to Venice, Italy

Venice is set to welcome its first Hampton by Hilton, following a franchise agreement with Apex Alliance. The hotel will be on the island of Tronchetto within easy reach of central Venice via the vaporetti water-buses, which stop in front of the hotel. Piazzale Roma, the major transportation hub and part of the historical centre of Venice, is also just four minutes away via the city's People Mover shuttle trains. Planned to open by Spring 2024, the 324-guest room hotel will be one of the largest in Venice, offering a breakfast zone and bar, two meeting rooms, a fitness centre and a dedicated Work Zone.

Matthias Welzel has been named General Manager at Hilton Lake Como

Matthias Welzel has been named as the new General Manager of Hilton Lake Como. Located in the heart of the city of Como, the 170-room Hilton property opened in 2018 and is privately owned by the Limonta family. The hotel originated as the site of the Tintoria Subalpina factory, which specialised in silk printing and dyeing from 1935 to 1997. Welzel will lead the historic hotel and hands-on team in all aspects of hotel operations, from marketing and hotel administration to guest services and satisfaction.
