Marriott's AC brand announces opening of its First Hotel in Jamaica

AC Hotels by Marriott has announced the opening of AC Hotel Kingston, Jamaica, bringing the brand's forward-thinking design approach to the island. Born from the signature vision of renowned hotelier Antonio Catalan, the brand was founded in 1998 in Spain, and brought into the Marriott International portfolio in 2011, launching AC Hotels by Marriott globally in locations including France, Denmark, the United States, Latin America, Puerto Rico and now Jamaica.

Fresco will be responsible for optimizing operations at each resort and further enhancing service quality and guest relations. Fresco's appointment is part of Playa Hotels & Resorts' larger employee growth model, a companywide initiative to ensure each team member's success and advancement. Carlos Fresco has been part of the Playa Hotels & Resorts family since 2014. Most recently, Fresco was the hotel manager at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos in Los Cabos, Mexico, where he managed the day-to-day operations of the resort. He was also part of the team that oversaw the opening of Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Fluent in six languages, Fresco earned a hotel management degree from Cornell University and a master's degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic that focused specifically on all-inclusive properties.
