Marriott and Sekisui House Announce 15 New Fairfield By Marriott Properties by 2021

Marriott International, Inc., today announced the signing of 12 Fairfield by Marriott hotels across five prefectures in Japan Kyoto, Wakayama, Mie, Gifu and Tochigi in a long-standing collaboration with Japanese real estate developer, Sekisui House; in total, an anticipated 15 hotels will be signed by next year. All properties are expected to open by 2021, with the first dozen hotels scheduled to open in late 2020. Tavinos' Opening First Hotel Under Brand in Tokyo

Tavinos' design concept is based on Japanese pop culture, with eye-popping Manga (animation), covering the hotel. The stylish guest rooms, 12 square meters/129 square feet on average, are minimally furnished with smart storage to maximize space. Continental breakfast will be available in the spacious lobby lounge, also serving as a communal area for guests to meet and mingle. An AI concierge will provide local information and matching for guests interested in similar activities. Fujita Kanko will open the first 188-room Tavinos in Hamamatsu-cho, Tokyo, in August 2019, followed by the second 278-room Tavinos in Asakusa, Tokyo, in May, 2020.

Hyatt to Operate in Niseko, Japan

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Hokkaido Alpine Resort Management GK, an affiliate of LimeTree Capital, for a 91-room Hyatt House hotel in Niseko, Japan. The upscale, extended stay hotel will be rebranded as Hyatt House Niseko on December 16, 2018. Situated in the very heart of Hirafu Village and within a short distance to Hirafu's main ski lifts, Hyatt House Niseko will allow guests to easily access the area's world-class powder snow and village attractions.

Hotel JAL City Tokyo Toyosu to Open in 2019

Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., announced today that it will open the Hotel JAL City Tokyo Toyosu in 2019. The company has contracted with Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. for asset and project management services for the new property, which will be located in Tokyo's futuristic Toyosu district. The hotel will occupy the upper level of "D Tower Toyosu", a unique hybrid facility incorporating an athlete training center.

AccorHotels opens 1000th hotel in Asia Pacific region

AccorHotels has reached its milestone 1000th hotel for Asia Pacific with the launch of Pullman Tokyo Tamachi, bringing the group to over 200,000 rooms in the region.
