Signaling increasing global demand for its brand, Red Roof® is expanding its reach again, this time to Japan in the Namba area of Osaka. The former 198-room Floral Inn has become the 224-room Red Roof PLUS+®/Namba-Osaka after undergoing a $14.5 million renovation, including the addition of 26 new guest rooms. Pacifica Capital To Convert Tokyo Office Building To International Hotel

TOKYO -- Tokyo-based commercial real estate developer Pacifica Capital K.K. has been appointed as asset manager for the conversion of an office building in central Tokyo to an internationally-branded three-star hotel. The property, Kinshicho Mark Building, is a short walk from one of Tokyo's busiest train stations and near some of the capital's major tourist attractions such as Asakusa and Tokyo Sky Tree. Marriott International to Open First JW Marriott Property in Japan

Today Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) and Japan's leading real estate development company Mori Trust Group, announced they plan to open JW Marriott Hotel Nara, Japan in the spring of 2020 – the same year as the Tokyo Olympics. The new hotel will mark the JW Marriott brand's debut in Japan, Nara's first luxury property and the continuation of a successful partnership between Marriott International and Mori Trust Group. Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo announced the appointment of Marcus Bauder as general manager effective 5 February 2016.A seasoned hotelier, Mr. Bauder previously served as resident manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo from 2008 to 2010, and as hotel manager of Shangri-La’s China World Hotel, Beijing from 2010 to 2012.
