IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Najib Nasser as Cluster General Manager for the five IHG hotels in Kuwait. A hospitality veteran, Najib brings with him over 25 years of experience and will oversee the operations of Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait Al Thuraya City, Holiday Inn Kuwait and Holiday Inn & Suites Kuwait Salmiya, as well as the first InterContinental in Kuwait, InterContinental Kuwait Al Thuraya City, slated to open in 2024.

Federico Mantoani has been appointed as General Manager at Grand Hyatt Kuwait

Having joined Hyatt back in 1997, Mantoani brings 25 years of Hyatt Management experience, with nine years in a GM role. His hospitality career initially started in the food and beverage sector, before developing into a successful career path at Hyatt that has spanned over 10 countries, with predominant exposure in the GCC region. His most recent pre-opening success was with the luxury Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas, preceded by the opening of the Park Hyatt Dubai.

Ercan Kabak has been appointed as Director of Finance at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait

Kabak joins the team with 26 years of experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting with brands such as Hilton and Swiss Hotels & Resorts in Austria, Japan and Turkey. Kabak will oversee the development and maintenance of all financial functions, reporting, and purchasing to ensure compliance with policies and brand procedures. Kabak and his team will ensure the operation of the hotel`s finances by assessing the market, establishing financial goals, conducting financial analysis and setting the hotel for financial success.

Gurkan Gozyilmaz has been appointed as Executive Chef at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait

Gozyilmaz boasts over 17 years of experience, taking on his first executive chef role at Palazzo Versace Dubai in 2018 ahead of his most recent position at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait. Through the years, Gozyilmaz also gained exposure as a chef in Madinat Jumeirah & Jumeirah Bodrum Palace, J.W Marriott Miami USA, Mandarin Oriental - Bodrum Turkey. Now, Gozyilmaz and his team will oversee the dining offerings at the hotel.

Eugene de Rooze has been appointed as Director of Operations at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait

De Rooze has previously worked for brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and Fairmont Hotels since he began his career in 2001. Embarking on his hospitality journey with his first role as F&B outlet manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Eugene has come a long way moving up from various roles in F&B starting in restaurant and banquet management at different locations including Egypt, the United States, Cayman Islands, Mexico, British West Indies and lastly at The Ritz-Carlton, Astana in Kazakhstan where he took the role as executive assistant manager overlooking the food and beverage division.

Andreas Wissdorf has been appointed as Multi-Property General Manager at Marriott Hotels Kuwait

Kemal Sirtikirmizi has been named General Manager at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait

Sirtikirmizi brings more than 20 years of international hospitality experience across North America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Turkey, having worked with many luxury brands. Previous posts include stints at The St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton, Luxury Collection, and W Hotels. As early as 2006, he was front office manager for Marriott's Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach Resort, staying until 2011 before joining St. Regis San Francisco as director of front office.

Dirk Heinen has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Regency, Kuwait

Luxury hotel, The Regency, Kuwait has appointed Dirk Heinen as its new executive chef. Heinen brings over 34 years of professional culinary experience from hotels such as JW Marriott Hotel Ankara and Le Meridien Barbarons Seychelles. He also led the culinary operation at the Sheraton & Four Point Complex in Kuwait City for over six years. Originally from Germany, Heinen spent his early career working as a sous chef in Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey. He earned his master chef diploma in 1996 and acquired the position of executive chef in 1997. Prior to joining The Regency, Heinen served as an executive chef at Cinnamon Grand Hotel Sri Lanka where he was overseeing the overall culinary experience of a range of 17 specialty restaurants. Covering the world-renowned cuisines, including in-room dining and amenities and banquet operations, he caters to Michelin Star events with Marco Piere White, Goerge Colombaris and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinners. With taking on the leadership role for over 100 team members in the food production at The Regency, Dirk Heinen aims to infuse the culinary heritage of Kuwait and its luxury hotel with experience and knowledge from various cultures.
