Born in Oberhausen of Germany, Sven began his career at home and served with a number of 5 star hotels in Cyprus and Switzerland for over 5 years before moving to the Maldives in 2008 as Executive Sous Chef for the W Retreat & Spa Maldives. After having served W Maldives for nearly 2 years, Sven joined Sheraton Maldives in 2010.

Alexandre Hulen has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holding, has announced a management appointment for its two upcoming properties in the Maldives: Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011. Jumeirah welcomes Alexandre Hulen, who has been appointed as director of sales & marketing for the Maldives. Mr. Hulen brings 12 years of international experience in the hospitality industry, having worked for prestigious hotel groups such as Concorde Hotels, The Eton Collection, Le Meridien and Anantara. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Alexandre was working for the prestigious Anantara Group, overseeing the Sales and Marketing activities of three luxury hotels in the Maldives.

Stephan Huemer has been named General Manager at Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holding, has announced a management appointment for its two upcoming properties in the Maldives: Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011. Stefan Huemer joins Jumeirah Group as area general manager for the Maldives, with a particular remit to lead the pre-opening team of Jumeirah's first two resorts in the Maldives. Mr. Huemer has over 20 years experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked for international brands such as Radisson, Kempinski, Le Meridien and Mandarin Oriental. His career has included senior hotel positions in Austria, France, Singapore, Philippines and Germany. Most recently, Mr. Huemer was the general manager of Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City Hotel. In fact, Mr. Huemer is no stranger to the Maldives, having been the regional general manager and island chief for the Kuredu & Komandoo Island Resort & Spa for five years.

Willy Ribbe has been named Resort Manager at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

Ribbe previously served as general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Doha, Sharq Village & Spa in Qatar for several years. Ribbe has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and holds a prestigious background working across three continents: Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Beginning his career at Marriott Hotels in the food and beverage division as an Executive Chef, he transitioned straight to management positions at the Prague Marriott Hotel, Renaissance Prague Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments. He is fluent in English and German and married with two teenage daughters. The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s restaurant Ithaa, the world’s first undersea restaurant, just celebrated its fifth anniversary and is now offering guests the opportunity to spend the night underwater in the transformable Ithaa Suite for two. Dietmar Koegerl has been appointed as General Manager at Anantara Kihavah Villas

Dietmar joins Anantara from his position as General Manager of the Sheraton Pattaya Resort, Thailand, where he was responsible for the overall management of its 156 rooms and villas Hotel. Dietmar, who is a German national, has a strong background in hotel openings having worked as part of the launch team and General Manager at two five-star Le Méridien hotels in the Seychelles. Anantara Kihavah Villas, one of the most exclusive in all the Maldivian islands, is just 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport. It will comprise 78 luxurious overwater and beach suites and will also boast the largest swimming pool in the Maldives. The hotel is slated to open in late September.
