Ms. Saldarriaga joined the staff of Hotel Matilda in August 2010 as Assistant Spa Director. Prior to Hotel Matilda, she was a sales representative with Natura Bissé International in Mexico City. In Toronto, Canada, she earned a diploma from the Humber Esthetician & Spa Management College, where she also completed esthetician training at the school’s Humber Spa. Spa Matilda is an integral component of the lifestyle-focused guest experience at Hotel Matilda. Andrea Carneiro has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Latin America Division today announced that Andrea Carneiro has joined The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort as director of sales and marketing. With more than a decade of experience in the Mexican luxury hospitality industry, Carneiro is an ideal candidate to enhance the resort’s sales and marketing strategies toward increasing revenue. In her new role, Carneiro will be tasked with developing and implementing innovative initiatives to boost awareness, sales, and market share while simultaneously garnering new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets. Throughout the span of her career, Carneiro has focused on sales and marketing within the luxury hospitality industry. Prior to joining The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Carneiro served as the director of sales and marketing for Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, where she increased market share in existing markets and maximized new business development opportunities in emerging markets. Previously, Carneiro spent five years at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, where she grew from sales manager to director of sales. Carneiro has held sales and operations positions at a variety of additional hotels and resorts throughout Mexico. Carneiro completed her undergraduate education in business at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil. She continued her business education at Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Pau in Pau, France followed by a degree from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland, the oldest hotel school in the world.

Jorge Boneta has been named Executive Chef at Hotel Matilda

Drawing upon his in-depth knowledge of Mexican culinary traditions and extensive professional experience, Chef Boneta is creating a menu at Hotel Matilda that accents authentic Mexican cuisine with the latest international trends and personal innovation. He has perfected his lifelong passion for cooking, shaped early on by an intimate family life that centered around the kitchen and good food, at some of the most luxurious and acclaimed resorts in Mexico. He comes to Hotel Matilda from the Rosewood Mayakobá on the Riviera Maya, where he was chef de cuisine responsible for the luxury resort’s beach club and banquet services. Previously, in Acapulco, he served as executive sous chef at the Banyan Tree Cabo Puerto Marques and specialty chef at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts’ famous Princess Hotel. Also in Acapulco, as the executive sous chef of Fairmont’s Pierre Marques Hotel, he earned a trio of prestigious awards for the hotel’s Tabachin Restaurant including: AAA’s Four Diamond rating; the first restaurant in Acapulco to receive the Five Star Diamond Award; and recognition as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in Mexico. Complementing his professional experience, the 2002 graduate of the Culinary Institute of Mexico has traveled extensively in Mexico to hone his knowledge of the varied and unique cuisines of the different regions of the country. While studying at the Culinary Institute of Mexico, he entered an international cooking contest sponsored by the institute and placed third in what was his first culinary competition.

Fernando Garcia Rossette has been promoted to Managing Director at Grand Velas Resorts in Riviera Maya and Rivera Nayarit, as well as Casa Velas

Previously, he was with Habita Hotels serving in a variety of executive positions including: regional manager based in Acapulco, where he oversaw the renovation of Hotel Boca Chica; regional general manager of Hotel Deseo and Hotel Básico in Playa del Carmen; and general manager of the flagship Habita Hotel in Mexico City's chic Polanco district. Prior to Habita Hotels, Mr. James was general manager of the Quinta Real Acapulco and Casa del Mar in Los Cabos. Bernard Wyss has been appointed as Area Vice President (AVP) at Meliá Hotels International

Thais Magri has been appointed as Senior Sales Manager U.S. Market at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Magri has served in several different roles throughout her decade long career in the luxury hospitality industry, most recently as leisure and corporate senior sales manager for a luxury resort in Los Angeles, which she helped successfully launch. Previously, Magri spent five years at another Southern California resort, where she made her way from reservations sales associate to front desk supervisor followed by three years as reservations manager. Magri graduated from SENAC University in Sao Paulo, Brazil with a B.A. in hospitality and tourism management. She went on to continue her education and later earned a business management certificate from the University of California, San Diego.
