Christian Westbeld has been appointed as General Manager at Raffles Hotel Singapore

Raffles Hotel Singapore is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Westbeld as its General Manager, effective from 1 October 2017. CWChristian brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry spanning Germany, Bangkok, Manila, Dubai, Singapore, Beijing and more. His journey as a hotelier started at the front office of one of the top hotels in Germany and saw him rise through the ranks in Food & Beverage operations across the globe from The Peninsula in Manila to The Fairmont in Dubai and subsequently, being part of the pre-opening team in Raffles Dubai. Christian is no stranger to Raffles Hotel Singapore, having served as its Executive Assistant Manager from July 2009 to February 2011 before moving on to Raffles Beijing as Resident Manager. He returned to Raffles Hotel Singapore in June 2013 as Hotel Manager until August 2015, where he continued to deliver outstanding results. Most recently, Christian was based in Macau with MGM China Ltd, where he led the Hospitality Operation at MGM Macao and was part of the pre-opening team for MGM Cotai. In his new role as General Manager of Raffles Hotel Singapore, Christian will oversee the hotel through its careful and sensitive restoration and into its highly anticipated grand reopening in the middle of 2018.Christian graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maine at Augusta, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Management. He also holds a Diplom-Kaufmann FH from the University of Applied Studies and Research Wernigerode in International Business Studies, Economics.

Jan Wagelaar has been appointed as Director of Revenue Management at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Jan joins The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore from JW Marriott Marquis Dubai where he most recently served as the Senior Cluster Revenue Manager since 2014, supporting both the hotel and a cluster of nine other properties managed by Marriott International in Dubai. In the last quarter of 2016, Jan was recognised for his stellar performance with the Business Leader Award for the Middle East and Africa by Marriott International.

Mark Aldridge has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Mark joins The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore from the Montage Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, where he served as the Director of Sales & Marketing since 2015, bringing with him a performance-driven sales history and 18 years of international hotel experience. In his new role as Director of Sales & Marketing, Mark will provide strategic leadership for all Sales, MICE, Catering, Public Relations and Marketing, Conference Services, and Reservations activities.

Nihat Ercan has been promoted to Managing Director of Investment Sales at JLL Hotels & Hospitality

Mr Ercan joined JLL in 2002 and has been a critical member of the Asia investment sales team, where he has been instrumental in several major deals, including the sale of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi in Maldives; Grand Park Orchard Singapore, the largest commercial transaction in the city’s history; and the InterContinental Hong Kong, the largest ever single hotel transaction globally.

Wendy Ho has been appointed as Director of Sales at Dorsett Singapore

In her latest capacity at Dorsett Singapore, Wendy will be heading the sales team in driving the business for the hotel. She was previously with Parkroyal on Beach Road Singapore in similar capacity for the past three years, heading not only Room Sales but the Catering Sales as well. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Wendy joins Dorsett Singapore with extensive experience in corporate sales having worked for other reputable hotels in Singapore. Wendy is an avid runner and will spend time outdoor, running of course when possible.

Jasmine Gan has been appointed as Assistant Director of Sales at Dorsett Singapore

Jasmine Gan will have primary focus on the Leisure portfolio. Jasmine was most recently with Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Singapore in similar capacity. Her past portfolio in the leisure and MICE markets included stints with Park Hotels Group (opening team) and M Hotel where she was awarded the ‘Best Sales Person Achievement Conqueror Award for 2008. Jasmine has also worked in various travel agencies in Singapore and spent two years working in Shanghai.

Jessica Koh has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at InterContinental® Singapore Robertson Quay

Jessica is an accomplished professional with over 14 years of experience in luxury hotel openings. During her 8-year tenure with IHG, she has successfully supported three hotel openings in Vietnam and Malaysia. In her new role, she will apply her wealth of industry knowledge to develop and execute the sales and marketing plans as well as training of sales, marketing and revenue teams.

Fernando Gibaja has been named General Manager at Capella Singapore

Capella Hotel Group has appointed Fernando Gibaja as general manager of Capella Singapore. He brings with him over 20 years of extensive international experience in hotel operations, development and management. Most recently, Gibaja was the general manager of Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel & Spa, where he worked with the Jumeriah Group for seven years. Prior to that, he has held a number of senior leadership positions across the globe with Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton.
