Joyce Hsu has been appointed as official W Taipei Insider at W Taipei

W Taipei has announced the appointment of one Taipei’s brightest personalities, Joyce Hsu, as the official W Taipei Insider – a clued-in concierge to connect the hotel’s savvy guests to Taipei’s hottest events, happenings and entertainment. In addition, W Taipei also introduces the first Taipei Insider Instagram Photo Gallery of Taipei’s Best of the Best by Joyce Hsu on its official Facebook to introduce all that is cool, fun, eclectic and interesting in Taipei. Joyce graduated from Boston University School of Hospitality Administration in 2010. A Taipei native, fluent in English and Mandarin, Joyce brings an insider’s perspective from previous intern experience in one of New York’s largest event companies “Espace” (under Capitale Ventures) and high-end restaurant Privus Sushi Lounge in Boston where her culinary taste got developed. She then joined W Taipei team in February 2011 and is uniquely suited to creating one-of-a-kind experiences exclusively for W Taipei guests.

Paul Jones has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei

Paul Jones has been appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Taipei with effect from 17 September, 2012. With more than 26 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Mr Jones embarked on his career with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2005 as Hotel Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. Since 2008, he has been General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore and during his tenure, has overseen the successful execution of a number of important renovations.

Ashley Hansen has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at W Taipei

Hansen is passionate for marketing and sales as well as exceptional service delivery. His love of food and travel spills into everything he does, perfectly complementing W’s introduction of the “lifestyle hotel” concept to Taipei. Hansen brings to W Taipei twelve years of hospitality experience working at various position levels with responsibility for sales and revenue development across a wide range of diverse markets and cultures including properties in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, London and Sydney. Cary Michael Gray has been named General Manager at W Taipei

Cary Gray joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., parent company of W Hotels & Resorts, in 1980. In 1985, Gray was assigned to the Sheraton Okinawa and promoted just two years later to general manager, becoming the youngest general manager in the company. His passionate dedication to quality and his knack for making guests feel at home have been the hallmarks of his career. Gray has served as general manager for a long list of luxury hotels, including St. Regis Beijing, St. Regis Shanghai, The Westin Tokyo, Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Okinawa, Sheraton Grande Laguna Beach at Phuket, Thailand, and -- simultaneously -- Australia’s Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast and Sheraton Port Douglas.

Robert H. Burns has been named Honorary Chairman at Regent Hotels & Resorts

Regent was founded in the 1970s by American Robert H.
