Arne Heuwekemeijer has been appointed as General Manager at NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky

Arne Heuwekemeijer has recently officially welcomed his first guests to NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. The new General Manager took up his duties on 20 May and has extensive international experience in luxury hotels. After years of working in Asia, the last of which as General Manager of the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai, Heuwekemeijer says he comes "back home" in Amsterdam. Heuwekemeijer succeeds Herman Klok in his position. Klok continues his career at NH Hotel Group as Regional Director Operations Amsterdam, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

NH Carlton Amsterdam is history as NH Hotel Group welcomes with NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market the fifth member to its premium NH Collection brand in the Netherlands. The 233 rooms of the 4-star superior hotel are situated in a distinctive building from the 1920s and located in the historic city center of Amsterdam. The Spanish interior and architecture studio TBC Interiorismo collaborates for the ninth time with NH Hotel Group after creating the interior of NH Collection Berlin Friedrichstraße and NH Collection Gran Via in Madrid, and there are more interior design projects in the pipeline: For example, NH Collection München Bavaria, which will open in August 2019.

Jos Pallandt has been appointed as Rooms Division Director at Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Jos Pallandt (31) has a proven track record at the five-star superior Hotel Okura Amsterdam. He has held various positions since joining the hotel in 2009, including assistant front office manager and assistant director of food & beverage. Following his appointment as director of rooms, Jos will join the management team of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. As of 1 May, Jos Pallandt's responsibilities include the front office, concierge, guest relations, security and housekeeping departments. He will also be responsible for Okura's wellness centre Nagomi Spa & Health.

Femke Groeneveld-Weller has been appointed as Deputy General Manager at Hotel Okura Amsterdam

In addition to her current position as commercial director, as of 17 May Femke Groeneveld-Weller (52) will also assume the role of deputy general manager and will consequently have a different position in the management team. After gaining more than 20 years of experience in the international hotel sector, Femke Groeneveld-Weller joined Hotel Okura Amsterdam in 2009 to continue her career in the hospitality industry. She initially joined our hotel in the position of director of conferences & events, before being appointed as commercial director with responsibility for the hotel's commercial strategy in 2011. In her new role, Femke will remain responsible for the hotel's commercial departments, while taking on the additional role of acting general manager in the absence of general manager Michiel Roelfsema.

Alexander Peulen has been appointed as General Manager at the niu Fender Amsterdam

In the beginning of May, Alexander Peulen was appointed as General Manager of the soon to be opened the niu Fender in Amsterdam. Prior to this, Peulen held the position of Director at management company Ooghduyne BV for four years and was previously Parkmanager at Landal Beach Resort Ooghduyne for 10 years. During the upcoming months he is going to further develop the operational part in assignment of Novum Hospitality, the new hotel in the Entrepotharbour near Cruquius Island. After the opening he will take on the daily management activities.

Rany Karman has been appointed as Chef de Cuisine at NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky

Randy Karman (25), former Sous-Chef of restaurant The White Room is taking over the role of Chef de Cuisine from Arturo Dalhuisen and will lead the team. Together with Signature Chef Jacob Jan Boerma, Karman will continue with the current direction of The White Room. Within three years' time since its opening, The White Room has acquired one Michelin star. Arturo Dalhuisen has decided to leave The White Room to pursue his career outside of the company. NH Hotel Group thanks him for his passion and dedication and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.

Christian Rothbauer has been appointed as General Manager at NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market

Yesterday Christian Rothbauer officially welcomed its first guests to the NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market. The new General Manager of the hotel, which has been out of service for an intensive renovation since December 2018, took up his duties on 1 February. Since that date Christian Rothbauer leads the former NH Carlton Amsterdam and has ample opportunity to combine his experience and love for the hotel business with his passion for gastronomy. With the opening of the NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market, the fifth NH Collection hotel in the Netherlands and the 77th worldwide is a fact. These figures show the rapid growth of this young premium brand that has only been around for five years.

niu Fender opens its doors end of 2019 at the Entrepothaven Amsterdam

End 2019 NOVUM Hospitality opens her second niu hotel in The Netherlands. This time in the capital, Amsterdam. The hotel opens its doors in the Entrepothaven at the Cruquiuseiland. New IntercityHotel Amsterdam Airport for Deutsche Hospitality

Deutsche Hospitality is driving forward expansion in the Netherlands. The IntercityHotel Amsterdam Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2021, will become the latest addition to the group's portfolio. It will join the existing IntercityHotel in Enschede, the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Amsterdam and Jaz in the City Amsterdam as Deutsche Hospitality increases its presence in the country to four hotels. Preparations for the start of construction works for the IntercityHotel Amsterdam Airport are continuing apace.

Michiel Roelfsema has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Michiel's first encounter with Hotel Okura Amsterdam dates back to 2002, when he worked at the hotel as an intern. In 2008, he returned to the hotel as assistant director of food & beverage. At that time, he was also a board member at the Food & Beverage Management Association. This was followed in 2012 by his appointment as rooms division director. In 2016, he was made deputy general manager. In addition to his work at Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Michiel Roelfsema is also an active member of the Hotel Finance & Technology Professionals (HFTP) organisation and a regular panel member at the Hotel Industry Technology Exposition Conference (HITEC).
