The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management named as one of the best hotel schools in the world

Jumeirah Group launches new home-grown restaurant division

Jumeirah Group, the international luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, has launched Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai (JRG Dubai), a global restaurant management company that creates, operates and franchises a portfolio of 60 restaurant brands. JRG Dubai operates home-grown high-end, premium casual and casual dining venues and lounges, including Pierchic, Tortuga, Pai Thai, 360° and The Noodle House, which comprises a portfolio of 23 branches worldwide.The newest addition to the Jumeirah Group stable of brands, which includes luxury hotel brand Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, contemporary lifestyle hotel brand Venu, and wellness brand Talise, JRG Dubai makes its debut at the Global Restaurant Investment Forum in Dubai on February 16-18.The launch of the division marks a pioneering move from Jumeirah Group to dedicate resources to the further development of its restaurant portfolio, as it seeks to compete with the very best in the standalone restaurant market and help establish Dubai as a hub for culinary excellence. Jumeirah Group signs first Venu hotel for Bluewaters Island in deal with Meraas Holding

Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, today announced the first deal for its new contemporary lifestyle hotel brand, Venu™, following the signing of a management agreement with Meraas Holding. The Jumeirah Group will operate the Venu Bluewaters Island Hotel together with adjoining serviced residences, which will be operated under the Venu Living brand. The Venu properties are expected to open in 2017 and will offer close to 300 hotel rooms and 119 serviced apartments. Bluewaters Island is a mixed-use development that will be located off the coast of Dubai. At the heart of the development is Dubai-I, the world's largest Ferris wheel. The island will also host retail, residential, hospitality and entertainment zones.Speaking at the signing of the management agreement, Jumeirah Group President and CEO Gerald Lawless said: "Meraas Holding is a respected developer with a bold vision and we are proud to bring our unique hotel experience to Bluewaters Island. HotStats MENA Chain Hotels Market Review – December 2014

Dubai's four and five star hotels maintained strong performance levels during the month of December with revenue per available room (RevPAR) increasing by 2.2% to US$308.26. The growth in rooms revenue was driven by a marginal growth in average room rate (ARR) which rose by 0.4% to US$375.11, coupled with a 1.4 percentage point increase in occupancy to 82.2%. Higher F&B and conferencing revenues drove a 3.5% increase in total revenue per available room (TRevPAR) to US$573.30 and supported profitability, as gross operating profit per available room (GOPPAR) increased by 4.0% to US$286.33.

"The timing of the IPO will be dependent on the market conditions.
