Hashmat Najurally has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Towers Rotana Dubai

Hashmat joined Rotana Hotels in 2007 as restaurant & bar manager at Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa, Al Aqah Beach, where he was later promoted to assistant director of food & beverage. In his expanded role, he will leverage his culinary experience in providing fresh new concepts and initiatives to the food and beverage offerings at Towers Rotana Dubai.

Muhammad Mujtaba Haider has been promoted to General Manager at ibis Styles Dubai Jumeira

Haider has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He was the project manager of ibis Styles Jumeira during its pre-opening stage and was later appointed as hotel manager when it launched in September 2015. Prior to this role, he was the executive assistant manager for sales and marketing at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham JBR, and was also the project manager during its pre-opening phase. He also served as head of sales and marketing at Ramada Downtown Dubai. All three properties are owned and operated by the Ajman-based R Hotels.The first ibis Styles to open in the UAE, the property recently marked its 2nd anniversary to honour and reward its associates and celebrate the hotel’s achievements including its awards and high rankings from top review sites like TripAdvisor, Hotels.com, and Holiday Check, to name a few.

Ulrike Andorff has been appointed as General Manager at Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa

Rotana Hotel Management has appointed Ulrike Andorff as the general manager of Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa. Andorff will be responsible for directing the overall management and operations focusing on the property’s commercial growth while following the strategic direction of the Rotana brand. Andorff has 33 years of experience in the hospitality industry where she worked for high-end international hotel & resort chains located in seven different countries including Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Republic of China, Vietnam, United States of America and Mauritius before coming to the United Arab Emirates. She joined Rotana in 2011 as executive assistant manager for The Cove Rotana Resort in Ras Al Khaimah and has managed and led Burjuman Arjaan by Rotana for the last two years.

David Simon has been promoted to General Manager at Palace Downtown

David Simon has been appointed as the new General Manager of Palace Downtown, a palatial destination managed by Address Hotels + Resorts. Formerly the Hotel Manager, David will play a key role in driving the hotel’s ongoing growth strategy as well as staff leadership, recruitment, and management. He will continue to direct all aspects of daily operations, revenue generation and guest retention.

Nicola Hands has been promoted to Director of Weddings and Events Sales at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

Due to the outstanding performance of the Events Booking Centre (EBC) at JW Marriott Marquis, and driving more than AED 100 million (US $27.23mn) of business in 2017, Hands will now head both the re-branded Marquis sales office and the catering sales segment at the property. Hands began her career with Marriott in 1996 as a banqueting waitress during her studies at Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club and then moved on to Slough Windsor Marriott in 2000 to work in the sales & events department.

Mohamed El Aghoury has been appointed as General Manager at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort

El Aghoury brings more than twenty five years of hospitality experience to his new role including leadership positions at some of the UAE’s hotels and resorts. Prior to joining Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort, he was the cluster general manager at The Meydan Hotel and Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & SPA. The appointment marks El Aghoury’s second position with Sheraton Jumeirah, following three years (2004-2007) as director of sales for the property.
